a very basic introduction to abstract algebra and almost a complete waste of money. Fraleigh's book covers much more material in a clearer manner at less cost. I hated using this as a textbook and am still fuming over having to buy it. ( )

Unfortunately my class didn't get to any of the good applications of Abstract Algebra. We covered group theory and Rings and Fields. I might browse some of the other chapters this summer.
