HYMN X. Let us come boldly unto the throne of grace. Heb. iv. 16. APPROACH my soul the mercy-seat There humbly fall before his feet, Thy promise is my only plea, Be thou my shield and hiding place, I may my fierce accuser face, And tell him "thou hast died." O wondrous love! to bleed and die, That guilty sinners, such as I, Might plead thy gracious name. HYMN XI. Earnestly desiring to be clothed, &c. 2 Cor. v. 2. As when the weary trav'ller gains The height of some o'erlooking hill; His heart revives, if cross the plains He views his home, tho' distant still. So, when the christian pilgrim views By faith, his mansion in the skies; The sight his fainting strength renews, And wings his speed to reach the prize. The thought of home his spirit cheers; No more he grieves for troubles past; Nor any future trial fears So he may safe arrive at last. ""Tis there," he says, "I am to dwell HYMN XII. They sing the song of Moses. Rev. xv. 3. Awake, and sing the song Of Moses and the Lamb; Wake ev'ry heart and ev'ry tongue, To praise the Saviour's name. Sing of his dying love; Sing of his rising pow'r; Sing, till we feel the heart Ascending with the tongue; Let ev'ry meaner joy depart, And grace inspire the song. Sing on your heav'nly way, Ye ransom'd sinners, sing; Sing on, rejoicing ev'ry day In Christ th'eternal King. HYMN XIII. Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised. BEFORE Jehovah's awful throne, His sov'reign pow'r without our aid, We'll crowd thy gates with songs of praise, Wide as the world is thy command, Firm as a rock thy truth shall stand, When rolling years shall cease to move.
