Post-Office, carry all the continental mails passing via Dover and Calais, and via Dover and Ostend, and the Postmaster-General, speaking of their mail-train services, has declared them especially regular and complete; the trains running at highly accelerated speed, and accomplishing the journey to Dover in one hour and three-quarters.

This line which is the favourite route for the mass of travellers to and from the Continent, and to and from the East via Paris and Marseilles, provides for passengers, etc., every accommodation and convenience, combined with the greatest rapidity of transit.

There are also special express daily tidal services between London and Paris vid Folkestone and Boulogne, which are universally used by the travelling public from the high character in every respect of the arrangements both of the trains and

A. To New Cross, and thence through Lewisham by a tunnel under Blackheath to Woolwich, Erith and Dartford Junction, or branching off at New Cross, through Lewisham to Lee, Eltham, Sidcup and Dartford to Gravesend, Strood for Rochester, Chatham, and Maidstone, Canterbury, Ramsgate, Margate, Folkestone, Dover, etc.

B. Mid Kent through New Cross to Lady Well, Catford Bridge, Lower Sydenham, New Beckenham Junction for Beckenham, Bromley, and Bickley, and for Croydon (Addiscombe Road).

CHARING CROSS STATION.-Here, behind a large hotel, are the termini of the South-Eastern Railway (which has also termini at Cannon Street and London Bridge), and of the North Kent and the Greenwich lines.

CANNON STREET STATION.-Here, at the rear of a huge hotel, are the termini of the South-Eastern Railway Company, etc. KENSINGTON STATION.-Here is a terminus belonging to the Brighton line.
