bills, authorized to be made by the fame act (except fuch claufes as do charge the fame on the rates, duties, and affeffinents granted by the fame act) fhall be applied and extended to the loans and exchequer bills to be made in pursuance of this act, as fully and effectually, to all intents and purposes, as if the fame Aloans or exchequer bills had been originally authorized by the faid last mentioned act, or as if the faid feveral claufes or provifoes had been particularly repeated and re-enacted in the body of this act.

XII. And be it further enacted by the authority aforefaid, Loans, &c. That all fuch loans or exchequer bills, not exceeding five hun- to carry 41. dred thousand pounds as aforefaid, as fhall be taken in, or made per cent. forth in pursuance of this act, may respectively be made to bear or carry an intereft, premium, or rate, not exceeding four pounds per centum per annum; and all fuch loans or exchequer

bills, together with the intereft, premium, rate, and charges in- payable out of cident to, or attending the fame, thall be and are hereby charged the first fupand chargeable upon, and fhall be repaid, or borne by or out of plies, the first aids or fupplies, which fhall be granted in parliament next after the twenty ninth day of September, one thousand seven hundred and forty feven; and in cafe fufficient aids or fupplies for that purpose fhall not be granted before the twenty fourth day of June, one thousand seven hundred and forty eight, then all and every the faid loans or exchequer bills, with the intereft, premium, rate, and charges incident to or attending the fame, ihall be and are hereby charged and chargeable upon fuch monies, as at any time or times at or after the faid twenty fourth day of June, one thousand seven hundred and forty eight, fhall be or remain in the receipt of the exchequer, of the faid furpluffes, exceffes, or overplus monies, commonly called The finking fund, (except fuch monies of the faid finking fund as are appropriated to any particular ufe or ufes, by any former act or acts of parliament in that behalf) and fuch monies of the faid finking fund fhall and may be iffued and applied, as fast as the or finking fame can be regularly stated and afcertained, for and towards fund, paying off, cancelling, and difcharging fuch loans or exchequer bills, intereft, premium, rate, or charges, until the whole of them fhall be paid off, cancelled, and difcharged, or money fufficient for that purpose be kept and referved in the exchequer, to be payable on demand to the refpective proprietors thereof.

XIII. Provided always, and be it enacted by the authority Monies paid aforefaid, That whatever monies fhall be fo iffued out of the out of the faid furpluffes, exceffes, or overplus monies, commonly called finking fund to be replaced The finking fund, fhall from time to time be replaced by and out of the firit out of the first fupplies to be then after granted in parliament; fupplies. any thing herein contained to the contrary notwithstanding.

XIV. Provided always, and be it enacted by the authority The land tax, aforefaid, That all the monies coming into the exchequer, either 20 Geo. 2. c.2. by loans or exchequer bills, upon one act of this feflion of parliament (intituled, An act for granting an aid to his Majefty by a land tax, to be raised in Great Britain, for the service of the

year one thousand feven hundred and forty Seven ;) and so much money, if any fuch be, of the tax thereby granted, as fhall arife or remain, after all the loans or exchequer bills made or to be made on the fame act, and all the intereft, premium, rate and charges thereon, and the charges thereby allowable for raifing the faid land tax, fhall be satisfied, or money fufficient shall be reserved in the exchequer to discharge the fame; and all the monies coming into the exchequer, either by loans or exchequer Malt act, &c. bills, upon one other act of this feffion of parliament (intituled, 20 Geo. 2. c. 5. An act for continuing the duties upon malt, mum, cyder, and perry, in that part of Great Britain called England, and for granting to his Majefty certain duties upon malt, mum, cyder, and perry, in that part of Great Britain called Scotland; and for applying a certain Sum of money therein mentioned towards the fupply for the Service of the year one thousand feven hundred and forty feven;) and fo much money, if any fuch be, of the duties thereby granted, as shall arife or remain after all the loans or exchequer bills made, or to be made on the fame act, and all the intereft, premium, rate, and charges thereon, and the charges thereby allowable for raifing the said duties, shall be satisfied, or money fufficient shall be reserved in the exchequer to discharge the fame; and alfo all the monies coming into the exchequer by fale of annuities, after the rate of four pounds per centum per annum, upon one other and duties up- act of this feffion of parliament (intituled, An act for repealing the "Several rates and duties upon houses, windows, and lights; and for granting to his Majefty other rates and duties upon houfes, windows, or lights; and for raifing the fum of four millions four hundred thoufand pounds by annuities, to be charged on the faid rates or duties ;) and alfo all the monies coming into the exchequer, by contributions, by way of a lottery, for the purchase of annuities, after the rate of four pounds per centum per annum, upon one other and upon act of this feffion of parliament (intituled, An act for granting to coaches, &c. his Majefty feveral rates and duties upon coaches, and other carriages 20Geo.2.c.10. therein mentioned; and for raifing the fum of one million, by way of lottery, to be charged upon the faid rates and duties ;) and alfo the and 112,508 1. fum of one hundred twelve thousand five hundred eight pounds, 19 s. 2 d. renineteen fhillings, and two pence, remaining in the receipt of maining of the additional his Majefty's exchequer, of the additional duties on fpirituous duties on fpi- liquors, granted by an act of the fixteenth year of his Majefty's reign, after fatisfying all incumbrances thereupon, to Christmas, one thousand seven hundred and forty fix; and the sum of one million five hundred thoufand pounds, by this act granted, fhall be further appropriated and applied, and are hereby appropriated for and towards the feveral ufes, intents, and purposes herein after expreffed (that is to fay)

XV.
