Explanation of Table of Squares (pp. 2-7). This table gives the value of N2 for values of N from 1 to 10, correct to four figures. (Interpolated values may be in error by 1 in the fourth figure). To find the square of a number N outside the range from 1 to 10, note that moving the decimal point one place in column N is equivalent to moving it two places in the body of the table.
