Thy Word is a lantern unto my feet, and a light unto my paths.

Then shall be said the Nineteenth Psalm.

PSALM XIX.

Cæli enarrant.

demanent sheweth His THE heavens declare the glory of God:

THE handy-work.

One day telleth another: and one night certifieth another.

There is neither speech nor language: but their voices are heard among them.

Their sound is gone out into all lands: and their words into the ends of the world.

In them hath He set a tabernacle for the sun which cometh forth as a bridegroom out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a giant to run his course.

It goeth forth from the uttermost part of the heaven, and runneth about unto the end of it again and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

The law of the Lord is an undefiled law, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, and giveth wisdom unto the simple.

The statutes of the Lord are right, and rejoice the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, and giveth light unto the eyes.

The fear of the Lord is clean, and endureth for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold sweeter also than honey, and the honey-comb.

:

Moreover, by them is Thy servant taught: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Who can tell how oft he offendeth : 0 cleanse Thou me from my secret faults.

Keep Thy servant also from presumptuous sins, lest they get the dominion over me: so shall I be undefiled, and innocent from the great offence.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart be alway acceptable in Thy sight,

O Lord my strength, and my Redeemer. Or Psalm lxvii. Deus Misereatur, except when it shall be in the Psalms appointed for the day; or an appropriate Hymn may be sung.

DEUS MISEREATUR.

Psalm lxvii.

OD be merciful unto us, and bless us :

Gombe un tight, of His coun

tenance, and be merciful unto us:

That Thy way may be known upon earth Thy saving health among all nations.

Let the people praise Thee, O God : yea, let all the people praise Thee.

O let the nations rejoice and be glad : for Thou shalt judge the folk righteously, and govern the nations upon earth.

Let the people praise Thee, O God: yea, let all the people praise Thee.

Then shall the earth bring forth her increase and God, even our own God, shall give us His blessing.

God shall bless us and all the ends of the world shall fear Him

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son: and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be world without end. Amen. ¶ Then, all still standing, the Minister shall say, Brethren, let us make profession of our Faith.

THE APOSTLES' CREED.

BELIEVE in God the Father Almighty,
Maker of Heaven and earth:

And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the Virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead, and buried, He descended into hell; The third day He rose again from the dead, He ascended into Heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost; The holy Universal Church; The Communion of Saints; The Forgiveness of sins; The Resurrection of the body, And the life everlasting. Amen.

Note (a) that by "hell" is to be understood Hades, the place of departed spirits, and (b) by "The Communion of Saints" is meant the fellowship of all true Christians in Faith, Worship, Love, and Service.

I

Tor,

THE NICENE CREED.

BELIEVE in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And of all things visible and invisible:

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, Begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of very God, Begotten, not made, Being of one substance with the Father; By whom all things were made: Who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, And was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary, And was made man, And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried, And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures, And ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of the Father. And He shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead: Whose kingdom shall have no end.

And I believe in the Holy Ghost, The Lord and Giver of life, Who proceedeth from the Father and the Son,* Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, Who spake by the Prophets. And I believe one Universal

*The Procession of the Holy Spirit "From the Son" did not originally form a portion of this Creed, and has never been universally accepted by the Christian Church.

GE

RANT, O Lord our God, that being freed from evil, and strengthened in that which is good, we may serve Thee faithfully evermore. Put away our sins. Comfort those who mourn. Send deliverance to the captive, and give health to the sick. Grant us peace and safety all our days, and an abundant entrance into everlasting rest, through our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.
