Who with Thee and the Holy Spirit liveth and reigneth, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

G

RANT, we beseech Thee, Almighty

God, that the words which we have heard this day with our outward ears, may, through Thy grace, be so grafted inwardly in our hearts, that they may bring forth in us the fruit of holy living, to the honour and praise of Thy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

DIRECT use gracious favour,

IRECT us, O Lord, in all our doings

and further us with Thy continual help; that in all our works begun, continued, and ended in Thee, we may glorify Thy holy Name, and finally by Thy mercy obtain everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

ALMIGHTY God, the fountain of all

wisdom, Who knowest our necessities before we ask, and our ignorance in asking; We beseech Thee to have compassion upon our infirmities, and those things, which for our unworthiness we dare not, and for our blindness we cannot ask, vouchsafe to give us, for the worthiness of Thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

ALMIGHTY God, Who hast promised

to hear the petitions of them that ask in Thy Son's Name; We beseech Thee mercifully to incline Thine ears to us that have made now our prayers and supplications unto Thee, and grant that those

things, which we have faithfully asked according to Thy will, may effectually be obtained, to the relief of our necessity, and to the setting forth of Thy glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen..

And there shall be no Ministration of the Lord's Supper unless there be at the least three persons to communicate with the Minister, except upon emergent occasion.

And to take away all occasion of dissension, and superstition, which any person hath or might have concerning the Bread and Wine, it shall suffice that the bread be such as is usual to be eaten; but the best and purest that conveniently may be gotten. But it shall not be in the form of a wafer; and the wine, where practicable, shall be the pure juice of the grape.

The bread and wine for the Communion shall be provided out of the Church Funds. # T The money given at the offertory shall be disposed of as the Minister and Church officers shall think fit.

When there is no Communion, the ante-Communion Service may be read from the reading desk at the discretion of the Minister.

T is hereby declared that no adoration

and Wine bodily received in the Holy Communion, or unto any Real, Essential, or Corporal Presence of Christ alleged, but falsely, to be in or with the bread and wine. For these remain still in their very natural substances, and therefore

may not be adored; for that were Idolatry to be abhorred of all faithful Christians.

T This Communion Service may be used in connexion with, or in place of, the Order of Morning or Evening Prayer, and at the discretion of the Minister a special Alternative Service may be used, consisting of the Service for Morning or Evening Prayer as far as the Psalms, then the reading of one Psalm, a Lesson from the Old Testament, a Canticle or Hymn, a Lesson from the New Testament, a Hymn or Canticle to be followed by the AnteCommunion Service, a Hymn, a Sermon, a Hymn or the Offertory sentences, and Ministration of the Holy Communion.

NOTE.-Whereas ancient churches stand for the most part East and West, and have chancels attached to them-which have been and are now in many cases the scene of Superstitious and Idolatrous servicesno new churches erected in connexion with the Protestant Church of England shall have chancels, nor shall they necessarily stand East and West. Nor in future shall the Holy Communion be ministered in any existing chancels unless it should appear that, from the structure of the church, the Communion cannot otherwise be ministered decently and in order in the body of the church.

THE

PSALMS OF

OF DAVID.

The First Bay.

FIRST PORTION.

PSALM I. Beatus vir, qui non abiit, &c.

BL

OLESSED is the man that hath not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stood in the way of sinners: and hath not sat in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord and in His law will he exercise himself day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the water-side, that will bring forth his fruit in due season.

:

4 His leaf also shall not wither: and look, whatsoever he doeth, it shall prosper.

5 As for the ungodly, it is not so with them but they are like the chaff, which the wind scattereth away from the face of the earth.

6 Therefore the ungodly shall not be able to stand in the judgment: neither the sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

7 But the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous and the way of the ungodly shall perish.

PSALM II. Quare fremuerunt gentes?

WHY

HY do the heathen so furiously rage together and why do the people imagine a vain thing?

2 The kings of the earth stand up, and the rulers take counsel together against the Lord, and against His Anointed.

3 Let us break their bonds asunder: and cast away their cords from us.

4 He that dwelleth in heaven shall laugh them to scorn: the Lord shall have them in derision.

5 Then shall He speak unto them in His wrath and vex them in His sore displea

sure.

6 Yet have I set My King upon My holy hill of Sion.

7 I will preach the law, whereof the Lord hath said unto Me: Thou art My Son, this day have I begotten Thee.

8 Desire of Me, and I shall give Thee the heathen for Thine inheritance and the utmost parts of the earth for Thy possession. 9 Thou shalt bruise them with a rod of iron and break them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

10. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be learned, ye that are judges of the earth. 11 Serve the Lord in fear and rejoice unto Him with reverence.

12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and so ye perish from the right way if His wrath be kindled, (yea, but a little,) blessed are all they that trust in Him.

PSALM III. Domine, quid multiplicati?

LORD, how are they increased that

trouble me many are they that rise

against me.
