JOHN VESEY, archbishop of Tuam. 1637, was cor scerated bishop of the united sees of Limcruk, Ardfort, and Aghadoe, in 1672, and translated, 1676, to the archiepts copal see of Tuam, with which he held, in commendam, the bishej ne of Kolfenora. He was four times lord justice and chief governor of Ireland, and d. 25 March 1716, in the reign of King Geo. I., having held the highest trusts, and been of the privy coun eil to five successive sovereigns. He left

theirs male, to whom the said estates might descend, should bear the name and arms of Vosey; and two das., Mary, m. James Ir* vine, esq., and had issue an only son, JamesJohn Vey, who d. um. 14, and Mary, m. heut. col. Poole-Hickman Vesey; and CATHARINE, created, 1826, Baroness Fitzgerald and Vesey, who m., 1762, the night hon. James Fitzgerald, prime serjeant of Ireland, who was appointed, 1754, one of his majesty's privy council for that kingdom. He had held for many years high offices under the crown, which he voluntarily relinquished, on the great question of the legislative ution of Ireland with Great Britain; and finally retired from publie life, after having borne a distinguished part in the political "history of his country, and been a member of the house of commons in ten successive parliaments; he d. 20 Jan. 1815, t. 93, having had issue by her ladyship,

RICHARD-WOGAN TALBOT, BARON TALBOT, of Malahide, co. Dublin, P.C. for Ireland; succeeded his mother, Margaret, late baroness, 27 Sept. 1834; married, 1st, Nov. 1789, Catherine, da. and h. of John Malpas, of Rochestown, co. RICHARD TALBOT, supposed to be a younger brother of Gilbert Talbot, lord of Eccleswell, ancestor of the earl of Shrewsbury, settled in Ireland, temp. king Henry II., and obtained from that monarch the lordship of Malahide; 7th in descent from him, was sir Thomas Talbot, knt., who had summons to the parliament of Ireland 1374, and by his wife, Agnes, da. and h. of William Kenewrick, was father of Thomas Talbot, whose grand
