He reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of harvest.-Jer. v. 24.

f867 SING to the Lord of Harvest,

Sing songs of love and praise;
With joyful hearts and voices
Your hallelujahs raise;
By Him the rolling seasons
In fruitful order move,
Sing to the Lord of Harvest
A song of thankful love.

2 By Him the clouds drop fatness,
The deserts bloom and spring,
The hills leap up in gladness,
The valleys laugh and sing;

He filleth with His fulness

All things with large increase,
He crowns the year with goodness
With plenty and with peace.
3 Heap on His sacred altar
The gifts His goodness gave,
The golden sheaves of harvest,
The souls He died to save;
Your hearts lay down before Him,
When at His feet ye fall,
And with your lives adore Him,
Who gave His life for all. Amen.

To Thee all praise and glory be;
How shall we show our love to Thee,
Giver of all?

2 The golden sunshine, vernal air,
Sweet flowers and fruits Thy love de-
clare,

Where harvests ripen, Thou art there,
Giver of all !

3 For peaceful homes and healthful days,
For all the blessings earth displays,
We owe Thee thankfulness and praise,
Giver of all!

dim 4 Thou didst not spare Thine only Son, But gav'st Him for a world undone, cr And e'en that gift Thou dost outrun, And give us all.

5 Thou giv'st the Spirit's blessèd dower, Spirit of life, and love, and power,

f

And dost his sevenfold graces shower, Upon us all.

6 For souls redeemed, for sins forgiven, For means of grace, and hopes of heaven,

Father, what can to Thee be given, Who givest all?

7 We lose what on ourselves we spend, We have as treasures without end Whatever, Lord, to Thee we lend,

8

Who givest all.

9 To Thee, from whom we all derive Our life, our gifts, our power to give. O may we ever with Thee live,

Giver of all! Amen

What hast thou that thou didst not receive ?-1 Cor. iv. 7.

mf 874 WE give Thee but Thine own,

cr

Whate'er the gift may be:

All that we have is Thine alone,
A trust, O Lord, from Thee.

2 May we Thy bounties thus

As stewards true receive,
And gladly as Thou blessest us,
To Thee our first-fruits give.
dim 3 Oh! hearts are bruised and dead,
And homes are bare and cold,
And lambs, for whom the Shepherd bled,
Are straying from the fold.

cr 4 To comfort and to bless,
To find a balm for woe,

To tend the lone and fatherless
Is angels' work below.

5 The captive to release,

To God the lost to bring,

To teach the way of life and peace,
It is a Christ-like thing.

6 And we believe Thy word,

Though dim our faith may be ; Whate'er for Thine we do, O Lord, We do it unto Thee. Amen.

[blocks in formation]

Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me.-Matt.xxv.40.

mf 875 FOUNTAIN of good, to own dim3 And in their accents of distress

Thy love

Our thankful hearts incline; What can we render, Lord, to Thee, When all the worlds are Thine?

2 But Thou hast needy brethren here,
Partakers of Thy grace,

Whose names Thou wilt Thyself confess
Before the Father's face.

Thy pleading voice is heard,

In them Thou may'st be clothed and
And visited and cheered.

[fed,

cr 4 Thy face with reverence and with love
We in Thy poor would see

mf O may we minister to them,
And in them, Lord, to Thee.
DODDRIDGE, alt.

Amen.
