2 The body for our ransom given, With this immortal food from heaven, And, as we round Thy table kneel, 3 Be Thou, O Holy Spirit, nigh; And let our adoration rise, As fragrant incense to the skies. Amen. 367 “That they may be one, even as we are one.” 1 LORD JESUS, are we one with Thee? 2 Such was Thy love, that for our sake 3 Our sins, our guilt, in love divine, The sting, the curse, the wrath were Thine, 4 Ascended now, in glory bright, Still one with us Thou art; Nor life, nor death, nor depth, nor height 5 Ere long shall come that glorious day, Thou shalt to wondering worlds display, Amen. 368 "If any man thirst, let him come unto Me and drink." 10 FOUNTAIN eternal of life and of light, Where all find refreshment who seek it aright, Pure spring of salvation And true consolation, [rolls, From God's holy temple Thy living stream Whose waters flow ample for all thirsty souls. 2 Here come I, my Shepherd, athirst after Thee; In mercy receive me, for mercy's my plea, The word Thou hast spoken Can never be broken; Thou know'st I am needy and greatly distrest, Thou callest the weary to come and find rest. 3 Thou, River of life, dost refresh heart and mind, Those whom Thou enrichest eternal good find; Amidst tribulation, The cup of salvation I take; thus with gladness inspired by Thee, All sorrow and sadness far distant must flee. 4 O Lord, my Redeemer, permit me to rest Where saints are no longer by suffering Where joys beyond measure [opprest; And fulness of pleasure In glory transcendent the conquerors share, And where crowns resplendent the faithful shall wear. Amen. 369 "Ye do show the Lord's death till He come." 1 TILL He come-O let the words 2 When the weary ones we love Hush! be every murmur dumb: 3 Clouds and conflicts round us press: 4 See, the feast of love is spread, Amen. 370 "Until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's Kingdom.' 1 HERE, O my Lord, I see Thee face to face; Here faith can touch and handle things unseen; Here would I grasp with firmer hand Thy grace, And all my weariness upon Thee lean. 2 Here would I feed upon the Bread of God; Here drink with Thee the royal wine of heaven; Here would I lay aside each earthly load; Here taste afresh the calm of sin forgiven. 3 I have no help but Thine; nor do I need Another arm save Thine to lean upon; It is enough, my Lord, enough indeed; My strength is in Thy might, Thy might alone. 4 Mine is the sin, but Thine the righteousness; Mine is the guilt, but Thine the cleansing blood: Here is my robe, my refuge, and my peaceThy blood, Thy righteousness, O Lord, my God. 5 Too soon we rise; the symbols disappear; The feast, though not the love, is past and gone; The bread and wine remove, but Thou art here Nearer than ever-still my Shield and Sun. 6 Feast after feast thus comes and passes by, Yet passing, points to the glad feast above; Giving sweet foretastes of the festal joy, The Lamb's great bridal-feast of bliss and love. Amen. Holy Baptism. 371 "They brought unto Him also infants." 1 IN token that thou shalt not fear We print the cross upon thy brow, 2 In token that thou shalt not blush 3 In token that thou shalt not flinch 4 In token that thou too shalt tread 5 Thus outwardly and visibly We seal thee for His own; And may the brow that wears His Cross Amen. |
