Exod. xxxi, 14, 15. Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you; every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbathday, he shall surely be put to

death.

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. And ye shall do no work in that same day; for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God. For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.

And whatever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people. Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, in all your dwellings, It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sibbath. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying. Speak unto the children of Israel, saying. The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD. On the first day shall be an holy convocation; ye shail do no servile work therein. Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD; on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you, and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly, and ye shall do no servile work therein. These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclain to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt-offering, and a meat-offering, a sacrifice and drink-ollerings, every thing upon his day, Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days; on the first

day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath. And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days. And ye shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month. Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; All that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths: That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

Lev. xxix, 1, 7. And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you. And ye shall have on the tenth day of this seventh month an holy consouls: ye shall not do any work vocation; and ye shall afflict your therein.

Num. xxix, 12. And on the fif teenth day of the seventh month ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work, and ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days.

Deut. xvi, 13-15. Thou shalt observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that thou hast gathered in thy corn and thy wine: And thou shalt rejoice in thy feast, thou, and thy sou, and thy daughter, and thy man-servant and thy maid-servant, and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates. LORD thy God from the land of Hos. xii, 9. And I, that am the dwell in tabernacles, as in the Egypt, will yet make thee to days of the solemn feast.

Zech. xiv, 16, 18, 19. And it shall come to pass, that every one

that is left of all the nations which

came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain, there shall be will smite the heathen the plague wherewith the LORD come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

FEAST OF DEDICATION. 2 Chron. vii, 8-10. Also at the same time Solomon kept the feast seven days, and all Israel with him,

very great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt. And in the eighth day they made a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days. And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their tents, glad and David, and to Solomon, and to Ismerry in heart for the goodness that the LORD had shewed unto rael his people.

Ezra vi, 16, 17. And the children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the chil dren of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy. And offered at the dedication of this house of God an hundred bullocks, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs; and for a sin-offering for all Israel, twelve lie-goats, according to the number

of the tribes of Israel.

John x, 22. And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.
