P.-The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever.

R.-The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

P.- More to be desired are they than gold, yea than much fine gold;

R.-Sweeter also than honey and the honey-comb.

P.- Moreover, by them is thy servant warned;

R.--And in keeping of them there is great reward.

P.-O, how love I thy law! It is my meditation all the day. Thou, through thy commandments, hast made me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. They also, do no iniquity, they walk in his ways. Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently. O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes! Then shall I not be

ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. This is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely, this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me.

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any man be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass; for he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the word; this man shall be blessed in his deed. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is

this; to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

PRAYER.

Almighty and Most Merciful God: we rejoice that thou hast given us thy law, as a light to shine upon our pathway, and a perfect guide in all the duties of life. We pray, O Lord, that thou wilt enable us to walk in all thy ordinances blameless; and especially, in those great commands which require us to love thee with the whole heart, and our neighbor as ourselves. Graciously be pleased to accept our thanks, that thou hast spared us amid the dangers of the world, until the present time, and permitted us again to meet and mingle with our brethren of like precious faith. Be thou in the midst of us, O Lord, with the good and gracious influences of thy Holy Spirit, to guide us in all our deliberations, and sanctify us wholly unto thy service. May our communion with thee, and our

fellowship with one another, be sweet; and may we here sit together, as in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

O God, we pray thee, prepare us with faith and strength rightly to discharge every duty, and cheerfully to abide every trial, that may await us in all time to come. Be pleased, O Lord, to bless this Church, and grant unto it an abundant prosperity. May we all grow continually in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, that we may be thoroughly prepared for every good word and work.

Pardon all our sins, keep us evermore in the path of wisdom, and save us with an everlasting salvation, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

SCRIPTURE LESSON IV.

FOR OPENING IN A TIME OF PROSPERITY.

. PASTOR.-The Lord is great in Zion; RESPONSE. And he is high above all

people.

P.— Exalt ye the Lord our God, and worship at his footstool:

R.- For he is holy.

P.-Serve the Lord with gladness; R. Come before his presence with thanksgiving.

P.-Know ye that the Lord is God. R.-It is he that made us, and not we ourselves. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

P.- Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise. R. Be thankful unto him, and bless his name:

P. For the Lord is good, his mercy is everlasting;

R. And his truth endureth to all generations.

O sing unto the Lord a new song, for he hath done marvellous things. His right hand and his holy arm hath gotten him the victory. The Lord hath made known his salvation, his righteousness hath he openly showed in the sight of the heathen. He hath remembered his mercy and his
