Sanction a Scheme of the General Board of Health
for the providing a Burial Ground for the
Township of Huddersfield in the County of
York, and the Regulation thereof, and other
Matters relating thereto, under the Nuisances
Removal and Diseases Prevention Amendment
Act, 1849.

HEREAS the General Board of Health have, in pursuance Preamble. of the Nuisances Removal and Diseases Prevention Amendment Act, 1849, framed and presented to both Houses of Parliament a Scheme for the providing a Burial Ground 5 for the Township of Huddersfield in the County of York, and for the Regulation of the same, and of certain other Matters and Things relating thereto, as is provided in the said Act, and it is expedient that such Scheme should be sanctioned: Be it therefore enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and 10 Consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the Authority of the

same,

I. That the said Scheme of the said General Board shall be and Sanction of Huddersthe same is hereby sanctioned, and shall, from and after the passing field Burial 15 of this Act, be absolute, and be as binding and of the like Force and Ground. Effect, as if the same had been expressly enacted in this Act.

Regulate the Mode of administering the Oath of
Abjuration to Persons professing the Jewish
Religion.

HEREAS Her Majesty's Subjects professing the Jewish Preamble. Religion are by Law capable of being elected to serve as Members of the House of Commons, and of holding divers Offices in respect of which they are or may be required to 5 take the Oath of Abjuration; and it is expedient to direct in what Manner that Oath should in all Cases be administered to Persons professing the said Religion: Be it therefore enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parlia10 ment assembled, and by the Authority of the same, That whenever Abjuration any of Her Majesty's Subjects professing the Jewish Religion shall Oath to be present himself to take the said Oath of Abjuration the Words omitting Upon the true Faith of a Christian" shall be omitted out of the Words "Upon the said Oath in administering the same to such Person; and the taking true Faith of 15 of the said Oath by such Person professing the Jewish Religion, a Christian.” without the Words aforesaid, in like Manner as Jews are admitted to be sworn to give Evidence in Courts of Justice, shall be deemed to be a sufficient taking of the Oath of Abjuration.
