MY LORDS AND GENTLEMEN,
Having received your permission to compile a concise History of the Proceedings of the Governors of Queen Anne's Bounty, with an Account of all Augmentations, to the end of the year 1825, granted to small Cures out of the Revenues placed at the disposal of the Governors by the Bounty of the Royal Founder, by the Munificence of Parliament in the last and in the present Reign, and by the Donations of many pious Individuals, I have accordingly proceeded in this Work; to which I have added a Statement of the present practice of the Governors in augmenting poor Livings and in the general administration of the Trust reposed in them: And I now most respectfully present to you, my Lords and Gentlemen, the Result of my Labors.
