The New Mexico part of this book is a good reference, reliable. That said, most of the book is outside my area of interest.

The stage coach that was robbed in Redding CA was robbed by Charles and John Ruggles. They were later hung by an irrate mob who stormed the jail. Not a band of thieves. The treasure was supposedly hidden near Middle Creek. Get your history right. Look it up.
