Books of the Old Testament translated from the Navarre (Spanish) Bible - Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, Wisdom, Sirach (Ecclesiasticus). This volume, which follows the pattern of the highly successful Navarre Bible New Testament (1985-1992), consists of the Revised Standard Version and the New Vulgate with a Commentary by members of the Faculty of the University of Navarre, Spain. The main feature of The Navarre Bible is the notes and introductions provided by the editors; these notes, which are rarely very technical, are designed to elucidate the spiritual and theological message of the Bible. This first edition of the Old Testament series was Navarre Bible: Pentateuch standard edition (1999) which also carries the Western Church's official Latin version of the Bible, the editio tipica altera of the New Vulgate (1986).
