n Early beloved, we are gathered together here in the
sight of God, and in the face of this Congregation, to join together this Man and this Woman in holy Mattimony; which is an honourable Estate, instituted of God in the time of man's innocency; fignifying unto us the mystical union that is ber vist Christ and his Church : which holy Eftare Christ adorned and beautified with his presence, and first miracle that he wrought in Cana of Galilee, and is commended of Saint Paul to be honourable among all men; and therefore is not by any to be enterprised, nor taken in hand' unadvisedly, lightly, or wantonly, to satisfy mens carnal luits and appetites, like bryte beasts that have no understanding; but reverently, discreetly, advisedly, soberly, and in the fear of God; duly confidering the causes for which Matrimony was ordained..i
First, it was ordained for the procreation of children, to be brought up in the fear and nurture of the Lord, and to the praise of his holy Name.
Secondly, it was ordained for a remédy against 'fin, and to avoid fornication ; that such persons as have not the gift of continency, might marry, and keep themselves undefilęd members of Christ's body. So ,
Thirdly, it was ordained for the niutual society, help, and comfort, that the one ought to have of the other, boch in prosperity and adversity : Into which holy Estate thele two persons present come now to be joined. Therefore if any man can shew any just cause, why they may not lawfully be joined together, let him now speak, or else hereafter for ever hold his peace.
And also, speaking to the Persons that shall be married, he Mall say, | Require and charge you both (as ye will answer at the 1 dreadful day of judgment, when the secrets of all hearts Thall be disclosed) that if either of you know any impediment, why ye may not be lawfully joined together in Matrimony, ye do now confefs ir. For be ye well assured that fo many as are coupled together otherwise than God's Word doth allow, are not joined together by God, neither is their Matrimony lawful. uios " !! :''.....
At which day of marriage, if any man do alledge and declare any impedimër:
why they may not be conpled together in matrimony, by God's law, or the · laws of this realm; and will be bound, and suficient fureties with him,
to the Parties, or else put in u Caution (to the full value of such Charges as the Persons to be married do thereby Juftain) to prove his Allegation; then the folemnization must be deferred, until fuch Time as the Truth be tried.
If no impediment be alledged, then shall the Curate say unto the man, N. U TILT thou have chis Woman to thy wedded Wife,
V to live together after God's ordinance, in the holy Estate of Matrimony ? Wilt thou love her, comfort her, honour and keep her in sickness and in health, and forsaking all other, keep thee only unto her, so long as ye both shall live?
The Man fball Answer, I will.
Then fall the Priest say unto the Women, N. UITILT thou have this Man to thy wedded Husband,
to live together after God's ordinance, in the hoJy Eitace of Matrimony? Wilt thou obey him, ferve him, love, honour, and keep him in sickness and in health; and forfaking all other, keep thee only unto him, so long as ye both shall live?
The Woman Mall Answer, I will.
Then foall the Minister say,
Then Then all they give their Troth to each other in ibis Manner.. The Minister receiving the Woman at her Farbet's or Friend's Hands, fall

Then all they loose their Hands, and the Woman with ber Right Hand idking
ibe' Man by his Right Hand, shall likewise saj, after i be Minifter: T N. cake thee N. to my wedded Husband, to have and to
hold, from this day forward, for better for worlë; for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love, cherilh, and to obey, till death us do part, according to God's holy ordinance; and thereto I give thee my Troch. Oben Hall-ebey again loose their Hinds; and the Marshall give unto the Wi
man a Ring, laring the fame upon the Book, with the accustomed Dury to - obe Priest and Clerk. And the Priest taking the Ring, foall deliver it unto, the Man, 10 put it upon the Fourth Finger of the Woman's Left Handi And
the Man kolding ihe Ring there, and taught by the Priest, fhall say, W I TH this Ring 1 thee wed, with my Body 1 thee
VV worship, and with all my worldly goods I thee en, dow: In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
Then the Man leaving the Ring upon the Fourth Finger of the Woman's Left
Let us pray.
Giver of all spiritual grace, che Author of everlalting life; Send thy blening upon there thy servants, this Man and this Woman, whom we blets in thy Name; that as Isaac and Rebecca lived faithfully together, so these Perfons may surely perform and keep the vow and covenant betwixt them made (whereof this ring given and received is a token and pledge) and may ever remain in perfect love and peace together, and live according to thy laws, through Jelus Chritt our Lord. Amen.
Then fall the Prieft join their Right Hands together, and say, Those whom God hath joined together, let no man put
asunder. Then Mall the Minister Speak unto the People: T Orasmuch as N. and N. have consented together in holy
r Wedlock, and have witnessed the same before God and this company, and thereto have given and pledged their Troth either to other, and have declared the same by giving and receiving of a Ring, and by joining of Hands; I pro. nounce that they be Man and Wife cogether, In 'the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
And the Minister shall add this Blefing: NOD the Father, God, the Son, God the Holy Ghost,
U bless preserve, and keep you: the Lord mercifully with his favour look upon you; and 'fo fill you with all fpiritual benediction and grace, that ye may. fo live together in this life, that in the world to come ye may have life everlalting. Amen. Then the Minister or Clerks going to the Lord's Table, shall say or fing
this Psalm following:
