What did the crow try to do? (to sing) When he opened his mouth what became of the cheese? (dropped on the ground) Who got the cheese? (the fox)

There was a sly cat in a house, and the mice were afraid of her. They tried to think of a way to keep the cat from catching them.

"If you will do what I tell you,” said one of the mice, "the cat can not catch you. Hang a bell on her neck, and we shall know when she is coming."
