God made the world.

Who is God?

God is the Creator and Lord of all

things.

Where is God?

God is everywhere.

Does God see us?

God sees and watches over us. There is only one true God, the Creator and Lord of all things, Who made the world and Who made us.

There is only one true God, and in the one only God there are three Persons called the Blessed Trinity.

The Blessed Trinity means three Persons in the one God.

The three Persons in the Blessed Trinity are God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Ghost.

Each Person of the Blessed Trinity

is equal to the other, because each Person of the Blessed Trinity is God.

LANGUAGE LESSON.

(To the Teacher: Let the pupils read these sentences with the blanks filled with is or are.)

[blocks in formation]

STAR LIGHT, STAR BRIGHT.

Star light, star bright,
First star I see to-night;
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have the wish I wish to-night.

I am old, so old I can write a letter; My birthday lessons are done; The lambs play always, they know no better

They are only one times one.

And show me your nest, with the little ones in it

I will not take it away!

I am old; you may trust me, linnet, linnet

I am seven times one to-day.

If all the world was apple-pie,
And all the sea was ink,

And all the trees were bread and cheese,

What would we have to drink?

LANGUAGE LESSON.

(To the Teacher: Let the pupils answer these questions so as to use the past form of the verb without the auxiliary.)

Did Red Riding Hood get pretty flowers for her grandmother?

Did the children come to see the brook? Did you bring the dog with you to the pond?

Did he tell her about the veins of the leaf? Has Fred seen the apples on the tree?

LESSON LVIII.

THE RED, white, and BLUE.

See our flag! Our country's flag! Hurrah for the for the Red, White, and

Blue!

I have seen the flags of many other countries, but there is no flag like our own Red, White, and Blue.

This is the flag I love the best. Hurrah for its stars and stripes!

I know where to find the prettiest colors for our flag, if I only knew how to get them.

What a lovely flag I should have if I could get a piece of blue sky where the white stars are shining through!

Then I should want a piece of white cloud, and some red from a bright rainbow. These I should put side by side for my stripes of red and white. What bright and lovely colors I should have in my flag!

We shall always love the stars and stripes,

And we mean to be ever true

To this land of ours and the dear old flag,

The Red, the White, and Blue.
