12. In many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. James iii. 2.

1. Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear. 1 Pet. iii. 15.

2. Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you,

as though some strange thing happened unto you. 1 Pet. iv. 12.

3. If any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God on this behalf. 1 Pet. iv. 16.
