*See Table of Decimals for finding the Value of the Decimals

of a L. Sterling.

This Example is a fufficient Evidence of the Utility and Conciseness of the Table for finding the Value of Merchandize, &c. and likewife of the Decimal Tables of Money, Weights, and Measures; and I may venture to say, that, when by a little Study and Application the Tables become familiar, the moft intricate Queftions may be folved in a fourth Part of the Time, they can be done by the common Method of Practice, &c.

Here follows the Ufe of the Tables for Standarding Gold and Silver.

Example I. Admit an Ingot of Gold weighs 180 Oz. 18 dwts. 20 Grains, being 1 Carat 2 Grains fine, or better than Standard, required the Number of Standard Ounces, &c. it contains.

Solution.

In Table fhewing the Weight of Gold 1 Car. 2 Gra. fine, you will find upon the foregoing Principles as under.
