2 Soon to appear before Thy sight,
Their vow and promise to renew,
Prepare them for the solemn rite;
Bid each his heart and life review.

3 The cross that marked their infant brow, May it a faithful token prove,

That they shall keep that sacred vcw,
And walk as children of Thy love.
4 Lord, teach them to remember Thee,
Their great Creator, from their youth,
Advancing to maturity

In years, in knowledge, and in truth.

5 Thy sons and daughters may they be, Confirmed and strengthened by Thy grace; And, safe through life preserved by Thee, In heaven behold Thee face to face

CCORDING to Thy gracious word,
In meek humility,

This will I do, my dying Lord :
I will remember Thee.

2 Thy body, broken for my sake,
My bread from heaven shall be;
The cup of blessing I will take,
And thus remember Thee.

3 When to the cross I turn mine eyes,
And rest on Calvary,

O Lamb of God, my sacrifice!

I must remember Thee,—

4 Remember Thee, and all Thy pains,
And all Thy love to me;

Yea, while a breath, a pulse remains,
Will I remember Thee.

5 And when these failing lips grow dumb,
And thought and memory flee,
When Thou shalt in Thy kingdom come,
Then, Lord, remember me!

OMMUNION of my Saviour's blood,
In Him to have my lot and part,—

To prove the virtue of that flood

Which burst on Calvary from His heart ;

2 To feed by faith on Christ, my bread,
His body broken on the tree,-
To live in Him, my living Head,
Who died and rose again for me ;-

3 Be this my joy and comfort here:
This pledge of future glory mine:
Jesus, in spirit now appear,

And break the bread, and pour the wine.

4 From Thy dear hand may I receive
The tokens of Thy dying love,

And, while I feast on earth, believe
That I shall feast with Thee above.

5 Ah! then, though in the lowest place,
Thee at Thy table may I meet;

And see Thee, know Thee, face to face,-
For such communion death were sweet.

F human kindness meets return,
And owns the grateful tie;
If tender thoughts within us burn,
To feel a friend is nigh ;-

2 Oh! shall not warmer accents tell
The gratitude we owe

To Him who died our fears to quell,
And save from endless woe?

3 While yet in anguish He surveyed
Those pangs He would not flee,
What love His latest words displayed,
"Meet, and remember me !"

4 Remember Thee! Thy death, Thy shame, Our sinful hearts to share!

O memory! leave no other name
So deeply graven there.

[ESUS, Thou Joy of loving hearts,

JESU

Thou Fount of life, Thou Light of men,
From the best bliss that earth imparts,
We turn unfilled to Thee again.

2 Thy truth unchanged hath ever stood;
Thou savest those that on Thee call;
To them that seek Thee, Thou art good,
To them that find Thee, all in all!

3 We taste Thee, O Thou living Bread,
And long to feast upon Thee still;
We drink of Thee, the Fountain-head,
And thirst, our souls from Thee to fill.

4 Our restless spirits yearn for Thee,
Where'er our changeful lot is cast;
Glad when Thy gracious smile we see,
Blest when our faith can hold Thee fast.
5 O Jesus, ever with us stay;

Make all our moments calm and bright:
Chase the dark night of sin away,

Shed o'er the world Thy holy light!

1 LORD, when before Thy throne we meet,

Thy goodness to adore,

From heaven, the eternal mercy-seat,
On us Thy blessing pour;

And make our inmost souls to be
An habitation meet for Thee.

2 The body for our ransom given,
The blood in mercy shed!
With this immortal food from heaven,
Lord, let our souls be fed ;
And as we round Thy table kneel,
Help us Thy quickening grace to feel.
3 Be Thou, O Holy Spirit, nigh!
Accept the humble prayer,
The contrite soul's repentant sigh,
The sinner's heartfelt tear;
And let our adoration rise
As fragrant incense to the skies.

And doth Thy cup with love o'erflow? Thither be all Thy children led,

2 Sweet is the feast which Jesus makes,
Communion of His flesh and blood;
Thrice happy who in faith partakes
That sacred stream, that heavenly food!
3 Lord, let Thy table honoured be,
And furnished well with joyful guests:
And oh, may each salvation see,
Who here its sacred pledges tastes!
4 Revive Thy drooping Churches, Lord;
Bid all that sleep awake and live;
And far and wide that strength afford,
Which heavenly food alone can give.

GOD, unseen, yet ever near,
Thy presence may we feel;
And thus, inspired with holy fear,
Before Thy table kneel!

2 Here may Thy faithful people know
The blessings of Thy love :

The streams that through the desert flow,
The manna from above!

3 We come, obedient to Thy word,
To feast on heavenly food;
Our meat the body of the Lord,
Our drink His precious blood.

4 Thus may we all Thy words obey,
For we, O God, are Thine,
And go rejoicing on our way,
Renewed with strength Divine.
