An address delivered before the Jefferson Literary Society of the
University of Virginia, in the Public Hall, June 28th, 1866, while a
student at that Institution.
CHARACTER OF STONEWALL JACKSON.
In 1868 Major Daniel delivered a lecture before the Manassas
Memorial Association at Manassas, Virginia, on the "Life and
Character of 'Stonewall' Jackson." At a much later date he delivered
at Fredericksburg, Virginia, an address upon the same subject, in
which he retained the substance of his original lecture, but in a less
elaborate form. The latter address has been selected as a part of
this collection.
