SIR, AS you are about soon to publish a volume of Miss OLIVER'S Poems, I have thought it proper to communicate some particulars respecting the Poetess and her performance, which you may give to the public in any way you judge best. She is the daughter of James Oliver, Esq. long an inhabitant of Cumberland county,-a worthy citizen,an eminent mathematician,-of whom she was deprived, when about fourteen years of age. She never received any thing more than a common english education. She very early discovered a fondness for rhyme, and took pleasure in clothing her friendly and pious sentiments in a poetic dress.
