1. What hygienic precautions would you advise in the upbringing of the sickly offspring of tubercular parents?

2. What are the main dangers connected with the milk supply of a city like Melbourne, and what precautions would you advise against them?

3. How would you deal hygenically with a case of Scarletina occurring in one of the suburbs?

OBSTETRICS AND DISEASES OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN.

The Board of Examiners.

1. Give the differential diagnosis and treatment of retro displacements of the gravid uterus.

2. Give the causes and management of Funis presentation.

3. Give the symptoms and treatment, the dangers and complications, of gonorrhoeal vaginitis.

4. What are the causes of Prolapsus Uteri, and give the treatment?

5. How would you treat secondary hæmorrhage of the Umbilical cord?

THEORY AND PRACTICE OF MEDICINE.
The Board of Examiners.

1. Describe the symptoms, diagnosis, and course of a case of hydatid of the lung, indicating the conditions with which it is liable to be confused.

2. Discuss the causes, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of a case of simple ulcer of the stomach.

3. Give an account of the modes of production, diagnosis, and terminations of pneumo-thorax.

4. Detail the conditions under which the apex beat of the heart is liable to be displaced.

5. Discuss the symptoms and modes of production of paraplegia in its various forms.

6. Detail the points to be attended to in the diagnosis of a case of typhoid in the first week, with any special indications for treatment in the first stage.

FORENSIC MEDICINE AND PSYCHOLOGICAL MEDICINE.

The Board of Examiners.

1. What rules have been laid down as proper to be observed by medical witnesses when giving evidence in courts of law?

2. Enumerate the signs of death, and say which of them, in your opinion, is the most conclusive.

3. Define a wound; specify the various kinds of wounds, and say which of them is the most likely to be fatal.

4. Detail all the phenomena of virginity, and of recent

rape.

5. Describe a typical case of acute mania, of chronic mania, and of senile dementia.

6. Mention the symptoms and necroscopical appearances in chronic poisoning by Arsenious Acid, Perchloride of Mercury, and Tartarated Antimony.

SURGERY.

The Board of Examiners.

1. Comment on the dangers of chronic middle ear disease. How would you recognise their oncoming? Discuss their differential diagnosis.

2. Give the symptoms and signs, the diagnosis and dangers, and the results of a very severe case and of a mild case of acute osteo-myelitis near the lower femoral epiphysis. Discuss the treatment in both cases.

3. Describe briefly the characteristics of secondary syphilitic eruptions of the skin, and mention the concomitant symptoms that may be found during the secondary period of the disease.

4. Discuss the diagnosis of dislocations of the hip.

5. Comment on the treatment of hydatid of the liver.
