2 A little sparrow cannot fall Unnoticed, Lord, by thee;

And though I am so young and small, Thou dost take care of me.

3 Teach me to do whate'er is right,
And when I sin, forgive;

And make it still my chief delight
To love thee while I live.

ANONYMOUS.

Sunday Morning. For a Child.

1 CALLED by the Sabbath bells away, Unto thy holy temple, Lord,

I'll go with willing mind to pray,

To praise thy name, and hear thy word.

2 O sacred day of peace and joy,
Thy hours are ever dear to me;
Ne'er may a sinful thought destroy
The holy calm I find in thee.

3 Dear are thy peaceful hours to me,
For God has given them in his love,
To tell how calm, how blest shall be
The endless day of heaven above.

CLOSING HYMNS.

ANONYMOUS.

Close of Worship. Evening.

1 ERE to the world again we go,
Its pleasures, cares, and idle show,
Thy grace once more, O God, we crave,
From folly and from sin to save.

2 May the great truths we here have heard
The lessons of thy holy word -
Dwell in our inmost bosoms deep,
And all our souls from error keep.
3 O, may the influence of this day,
Long as our memory, with us stay,
And as an angel guardian prove,
To guide us to our home above.

Praise to God from all Nations.

1 FROM all that dwell below the skies,
Let the Creator's praise arise;

Let the Redeemer's name be sung
Through every land, by every tongue.

2 Eternal are thy mercies, Lord;
Eternal truth attends thy word:

Thy praise shall sound from shore to shore,
Till suns shall rise and set no more.

Praise from all Nations.

1 THY name, Almighty Lord,

Shall sound through distant lands; Great is thy grace, and sure thy word; Thy truth forever stands.

2 Far be thine honor spread, And long thy praise endure,

Till morning light and evening shade Shall be exchanged no more.

[blocks in formation]

1 Now may He who from the dead
Brought the Shepherd of the sheep,
Jesus Christ, our King and Head,
All our souls in safety keep.

2 May he teach us to fulfil
What is pleasing in his sight;
Perfect us in all his will,
And preserve us day and night.

ANONYMOUS.

Hymn of Dismission.

1 LORD, dismiss us with thy blessing,
Hope and comfort from above;
Let us each, thy peace possessing,
Triumph in redeeming love.

2 Thanks we give, and adoration,
For thy gospel's joyful sound;
May the fruits of thy salvation
In our hearts and lives abound.

Universal Praise.

1 PRAISE to thee, thou great Creator;
Praise to thee from every tongue;
Join, my soul, with every creature,
Join the universal song.

2 For ten thousand blessings given,
For the hope of future joy,

Sound his praise through earth and heaven; Sound Jehovah's praise on high.

BICKERSTETH.

Closing Hymn.

1 ISRAEL'S Shepherd, guide me, feed me,
Through my pilgrimage below,
And beside the waters lead me,
Where thy flock rejoicing go.

2 Lord, thy guardian presence ever,
Meekly kneeling, I implore;

I have found thee, and would never,
Never wander from thee more.

[blocks in formation]

1 GREAT GOD, what do I see and hear!

The end of things created!

The Judge of mankind doth appear
On clouds of glory seated;

The trumpet sounds; the graves restore
The dead which they contained before;
Prepare, my soul, to meet him.

[blocks in formation]

Awake, my soul, stretch every nerve.
Awake, our souls, away, our fears
Awake, ye saints, and raise your eyes
