THIS Sermon is printed for the same reason for which it was preached-in the hope of ministering to Christian edification. The Author wishes, however, to observe, that (with the exception of the very conclusion) it was composed before he was aware that there were any local circumstances to which it might seem to be directly intended to refer. Since those circumstances have come to his knowledge, he feels that they form an additional reason why he should endeavour to press truths and precepts so important upon the consciences of his brethren.
