5. What cases are used after the verbs desum, patior, minor, misereor, tempero, vaco? Construct examples in illustration, using in every case the third person of the perfect of each verb.

6. Write down the ablative cases, singular and plural, and state the gender of the following words:-vis, lux, pellis, ars, aper, opus, carcer, funis, acus, imber, virgo, crus, senex, stipes.

7. Give the perfect and supine of the following verbs-concino, prosilio, findo, prandeo, veho, cerno, suesco, meto, metuo, cumbo, scando.

8. Distinguish between eminus, cominus; opus, opera (sing.), operae, opes; intermitto, committo, praemitto, amitto; deficio, reficio, conficio; invenio, subvenio, convenio.

9. In what different ways may be expressed in Latin ?

1. Of what inflexions are nouns capable? Write down those inflexions which are used to distinguish the feminine gender from the masculine.

2. What are the peculiarities of the following formations-pence, geese, children, paths, leaves, cargoes, keys?

7. Compare the French words journée, labeur, industrieux, plaisant, avertir, with the English words journey, labour, industrious, pleasant, avert; and show by translation how their meanings differ. 8. Give verbs derived from chant, soupir, gros, froid.

9. Conjugate interrogatively être in the present indicative, negatively avoir in the pluperfect subjunctive, interrogatively-negatively finir in the future.

10. Translate the following sentences, and underline the word which in each of them is indispensable for the French construction, though not used in English-Have you any books? Yes, I have Is your master at home? No, he is not. Are you happy? Certainly I am.
