life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the Truth."-1 Tim. ii. 1-4.

Seeing then that we have a great High Priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an High Priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the Throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”— Heb. iv. 14-16.

"Ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house" or temple, and are "an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ."-1 Pet. ii. 5.

PRAYERS, &c.

SUNDAY MORNING.

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy Name, O most High: to shew forth thy loving-kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night. For thou, Lord, hast made us glad through thy work: we will triumph in the works of thy hands. O Lord God of hosts, hear our prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Behold, O God our shield, and look

upon the face of thine Anointed*. May we count a day spent in thy courts, better than a thousand; and be glad when it is said to us, Let us go into the house of the Lord. How amiable are thy dwellings, thou Lord of hosts! Our souls have a desire and longing to enter into the courts of the Lord: our hearts and our flesh rejoice in the living God.-Shew us thy ways, O Lord; teach us thy paths. Lead us in thy truth, and teach us; for thou art the God of our salvation; on thee do we wait all the day. Open thou our lips, and

O Almighty God, who by thy Son Jesus Christ dost give to the Ministers of thy Church, many excellent gifts, and hast commanded them earnestly to feed thy flock; make, we beseech thee, all Bishops and Pastors (especially those whom thou hast set over us) diligently to preach thy holy Word, and the people obediently to follow the same, that they

may receive the crown of everlasting glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

O Almighty God, who hast built thy Church upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the head cornerstone; grant us so to be joined together in unity of spirit by their doctrine, that we may be made an holy temple acceptable unto thee. And give us grace, that being not like children, carried away with every blast of vain doctrine, we may be established in the truth of thy holy Gospel, through Jesus Christ our Mediator and Advocate.

Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us, this day, our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that
