Prayer to be said silently before leaving Church after the blessing

O LORD, we thank Thee for the instruction which we have now received. Forgive what Thou hast seen amiss in us, and grant that what we have heard we may remember, and what we remember we may try to do, through JESUS CHRIST our LORD. Amen.

Grace before Meals.

Bless, O LORD, these good things to our use and make us truly thankful, through JESUS CHRIST, our LORD. Amen.

Grace after Meals.

For these and all His gifts to us, GOD's holy Name be praised. Amen.

Confirmation.

A prayer to be said daily whilst preparing for Confirmation.

O LORD JESU CHRIST, Who hast sent the Holy Spirit into the world to strengthen us, to comfort us, and to lead us into all truth, I pray Thee to help me so to prepare and make ready my soul to receive the grace of confirmation, that I may come with true faith and

penitent heart unto that holy mystery, and obtain the fulness of those gifts which will enable me to resist all evil here, and follow Thy footsteps in lowliness of heart, and obtain in the end everlasting happiness, where Thou livest and reignest with the FATHER and the HOLY Amen. GHOST, GOD for ever and ever.

Ejaculations.

"Resist the devil, and he shall flee from you." In times of temptation, say to yourselves some short sentence from the Holy Bible.

For instance :

If you feel angry, say-" Peace, be still." If proud or conceited- "Walk humbly with thy God."

If bad thoughts come into your mind— "Blessed are the pure in heart."

If tempted to be disobedient or disrespectful "Honour thy father and mother."

If tempted to neglect your prayers or absent yourselves from church-"I must be about my Father's business."

If tempted to be selfish or unkind-" Even Christ pleased not Himself."

If tempted when alone-"Thou, God, seest

me.

If you feel that you have done wrong, say instantly-"Lord, have mercy upon me, and help me not to sin again."
