201 1 I HEARD the voice of Jesus say, Come unto me and rest; Lay down, thou weary one, lay down 2 I came to Jesus as I was, 3 I heard the voice of Jesus say, The living water; thirsty one, 4 I came to Jesus, and I drank Of that life-giving stream; My thirst was quenched, my soul revived, And now I live in Him. 209 1 WHILE Thee I seek, protecting Power, Thy love the power of thought bestowed; To Thee my thoughts would soar; 3 In each event of life, how clear Each blessing to my soul more dear Because conferred by Thee. 4 In every joy that crowns my days, In every pain I bear, My heart shall find delight in praise, Or seek relief in prayer. 5 When gladness wings my favored hour, 6 My lifted eye, without a tear, 5 Thus, till my last expiring day, 211 1 WHEN all Thy mercies, O my God, My rising soul surveys, Transported with the view, I'm lost In wonder, love, and praise. 2 Ten thousand thousand precious gifts My daily thanks employ: Nor is the least a cheerful heart 3 Through every period of my life And after death, in distant worlds, 4 Through all eternity, to Thee 212 1 How sweet, how heavenly is the sight, 2 When each can feel his brother's sigh, And with him bear a part; When sorrow flows from eye to eye, 3 When, free from envy, scorn, and pride Our wishes all above, Each can his brother's failings hide, And show a brother's love! 4 Let love, in one delightful stream, Through every bosom flow; And union sweet, and dear esteem, 5 Love is the golden chain that binds The happy souls above; And he's an heir of heaven who finds His bosom glow with love. |
