On Thy redeeming Name we call, Poor and unworthy though we be : Pardon and sanctify us all; Let each Thy full salvation see. Our souls and bodies we resign, 4 Firm, faithful, watching unto prayer, 5 Yet, Lord. for us a resting-place 40 1 WHEN sins and fears prevailing rise, 2 If my immortal Saviour lives, 4 Here, O my soul, thy trust repose; If Jesus is forever mine, Not death itself, that last of foes, 41 1 Now to the Lord, Who makes us know 2 'Twas He that cleansed our foulest sins, And washed us in His richest blood; 'Tis He that makes us priests and kings, And brings us rebels near to God. 3 To Jesus, our atoning priest, 42 1 Now I resolve with all my heart, 2 O be this service all my joy! 3 Be this the purpose of my soul, 4 O may I never faint nor tire, Nor wandering, leave His sacred ways; Great God, accept my soul's desire, And give me strength to live Thy praise. 43. 1 THINE earthly Sabbaths, Lord, we lovc 2 No more fatigue, no more distress; 3 No rude alarms of raging foes, 4 O long-expected day, begin' Dawn on these realms of woe ana sir! Bid, Lord, Thy mourning ones rejoice; Their beauty this, their glorious dress, Jesus, the Lord our Righteousness. 3 Blest are the souls that find a place Within the temple of Thy grace; There they behold Thy gentler rays, And seek Thy face and learn Thy praise. 4 Cheerful they walk with growing strength, Till all shall meet in heaven at length; 47 1 COME, dearest Lord, descend and dweli, By faith and love in every breast; Then shall we know, and taste, and feel The joys that cannot be expressed. 2 Come, fill our hearts with inward strength, Make our enlargéd souls possess And learn the height, and breadth, and length Of Thine unmeasurable grace. 3 Now to the God whose power can do More than our thoughts and wishes know, Be everlasting honors done, By all the church, through Christ the Son. 48 1 ANOTHER Six days' work is done; Another Sabbath is begun. Return, my soul, enjoy the rest; Improve the day thy God hath blest. 2 O that our thoughts and thanks may rise As grateful incense to the skies; And draw from heaven that sweet re pose Which none but he that feels it knows. 3 This heavenly calm within the breast 4 In holy duties let the day |
