DR. CULLEN'S First Lines of the Practice of Physic are here reprinted carefully from the last Edition (that of 1784) which was revised and corrected by the AUTHOR. His Text only is reprinted, with the very few notes that he himself had subjoined to it. This has been done at the particular request, and under the revision of Dr. GREGORY, who succeeded Dr. CULLEN as Professor of the Practice of Physic in the University of Edinburgh, and who has, on all occasions, not only recommended very strongly this work to the perusal of his Pupils, but has always made great use of it in his Academical Lectures; some of which are avowedly given in the form of a Commentary on certain parts of Dr. CULLEN's First Lines.

As every page of this Edition has been carefully revised by Dr. GREGORY before it went to press, the Editors flatter themselves that the whole of it will be found correct.
