At central examination held in Chilliwhack school-house on April 16th and 17th, 1896, Miss Rachel C. McLeod and Master Stephen A. Chadsey, pupils of this school, obtained the percentage required for admission to a High School.

A new school-house was erected in this district during the past year.

At examination held August 29th and 31st, 1895, Miss Margaret Boxall and Master Norman Brown, pupils of this school, passed the standard required for admission to a High School.

A larger average actual daily attendance was to be expected from an enrolment of 34 pupils.

THREE FORKS.

Salary, $50 per month.

No inspection.

Enrolled during the year, 7 boys, 13 girls; total, 20.

This assisted school was opened in August, 1895. At present there are 15 pupils enrolled. The average actual daily attendance is certainly low in comparison with the total number of pupils enrolled.

TRAIL.

The school in this newly-created district was opened in January, 1896. Owing to the largely increased attendance, it was found necessary to grant the addition of a monitor for this school in September, 1896.

The average daily attendance now being maintained is nearly 70.

That the average actual daily attendance during the past school-year, is very low when compared with the whole number of pupils enrolled, is accounted for by the very rapid growth of the place, and by the fact that the school was in operation but six months in the school

year.

TRENANT.

A school was opened at this point in November, 1895, and was closed in December, 1895, owing to want of sufficient pupils to warrant the keeping of the school open.
