ment of such annuity or annuities accordingly; and from and immediately after the advancing of the monies for the purchase, or granting of fuch life annuity or annuities as aforefaid, into the hands of the treasurer or treasurers, to be appointed by the authority of this act, and the delivery of fuch order or orders for the payment of fuch annuity or annuities as aforesaid, fuch annuity or annuities fhall ftand, and be charged and chargeable upon, and fhall be paid and payable out of the faid monies, to arife from the said additional sumns by this act charged upon the faid fees, in fuch manner and form as, by fuch order or orders for payment thereof, fhall be expreffed or directed, and the fame fhall be free from all taxes and deductions whatsoever.

V. VI. or perfons contracting to perform fuch works refpectively; and, previous to their entering into fuch contract, fourteen days notice at least fhall be given, in one or more of the publick newspapers, circulated within the bills of mortality, expreffing the intention of fuch contract, and the time and place of meeting of the commiffioners to receive proposals for entering into the fame.

IX. And for the better regulating the payment of the faid annuity or annuities, and of the money which may be expended in the building and finishing the faid court-house and offices, be it further enacted, That the faid commiffioners, or any feven or more of them, at for building. any fuch general meeting or meetings as aforefaid, thall (by warrant, in writing under their hands, directed to fuch perfon or persons as fhall be chofen treasurer or treasurers by the authority of this act) order or direct the payment of the faid annuity or annuities, and also all fuch monies as fhall be due and payable for the building and finishing of the faid court-house and offices, to the perfon or perfons intitled to receive the fame refpectively, as the fame thall become due; and fuch treasurer or treasurers fhall, upon receipt of fuch warrant or warrants, forthwith pay the fame out of the monies which fhall be in his or their hands as aforefaid, by virtue of, or under this act, and fuch warrants when paid thall be allowed in account to such treasurer or treafurers, upon the fettling or auditing of his or their accounts with the faid commiffioners, in manner as directed by this act.

X. And whereas there are in the hands of the prefent and former clerks of the faid court, and of the representatives of clerks deceased, divers and confiderable fums of money, which were paid into the faid court for the use of the fuitors thereof, but have not yet been called for or claimed by the perfons intitled to receive the fame, although the fame have been fo paid in for the space of fix years and upwards: and the faid commiffioners being defirous that the faid money should be laid out and invested in fome government fecurity, that the fame may be forth-coming to the feveral fuitors in the faid court, who are entitled thereto, when they fall demand the fame respectively; be it enacted by the authority aforefaid, That it fhall and may be lawful to and for the faid commiflioners, or any leven or more of them, at any general meeting to be held after the paffing of this act, to demand the monies fo in the hands of any of the faid prefent or former clerks of the faid court, and alfo the faid monies in the hands of or due from the reprefentatives of any clerk of the faid court who is deceased; and if, upon fuch demand, the fame or the payment thereof shall be refused, it thall be lawful for the faid commiffioners, or any feven or more of them, at any fuch general meeting, to fue for and recover the fame by action or actions upon the cafe, in any of his Majesty's courts of record at Westminster, in the name of the treasurer or treasurers to be appointed by the authority of this act, in which action or actions it shall be fufficient for the faid treasurer or treasurers to declare that the defendant or defendants is or are indebted

indebted to such treasurer or treasurers, in the sum of money which shall be fo demanded of fuch defendant or defendants respectively, for fo much had and received, for the ufe of the commiffioners of the court of requests for the Tower Hamlets; and if the plaintiff or plaintiffs fhall recover in such action or actions, he or they fhall be intitled to his or their full costs, and shall have the like remedy for the fame by law as plaintiffs have for recovery of cofts in other cafes.

XI. XII. XV. XVI. XIX.
