XXIII. XXIVr. XXV". And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, everv judge, That no judge, register, or deputy register, marshal, Or deputy register, or marshal, or any other officer whatsoever, os or belonging to other officer any court cf admiralty, or vice-admiralty, in Great Britain or any°cour?of Ireland, or in any ot his Majesty's colonies and plantations in admiralty, America, or in any other of his Majesty's dominions, nor any yvho shall be person or persons practising either as advocate, proctor, or otherinteretfed in wj<e5 in any such court or courts, (ha)l be concerned or imea«y privateer. reste(j^ directly or indirectly, as owner, part-owner, sharer, or adventurer, in any private (hip or (hips, or vessel or vessels of war whatsoever, having any commission or commissions as aforesaid; and in cafe any such judge, register, deputy register, jnar(hal, deputy marshal, or other officer, advocate, or proctor whatsoever, shall, notwithstanding this act, be directly or indirectly concerned or interested as' aforesaid^ such judge, register, deputy register, or marshal, deputy-marshal, or other officer re& spectively spectively* (ball, for such offence, (being thereof lawfully conviewed, either upon information or indictment in any of his Majesty's courts of record, or at any general or quarter session of the peace), absolutely forfeit his office and employment in and belonging to any such court of admiralty, or vice-admiralty, of what kind or nature soever such office or employment may happen to be, and (ball also forfeit and pay, to the use of his Majesty, his heirs and successors, the sum of one hundred pounds; and every such advocate or proctor respectively shall, for TuchJast-mentioned offence, (being thereof lawfully convicted in manner aforesaid), be from thenceforth absolutely disqualified, and rendered for ever incapable of practising, either as an advocate or proctor, in any of his Majesty's courts of admiralty or vice-admiralty wheresoever.

XXIX. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid,Ifan^.T,e^fer* That no register or deputy register, or any marshal,, or deputy ^0^5^ marshal, of or belonging to any of his Majesty's courts of ad- anv court of mirahy, or vice-admiralty, whatsoever, shall either directly or admiralty, . indirectly, by himself or themselves, or by any agent or agents, fr^lact as; or other person or persons whatsoever, act or be concerned in P°^r thier^any manner, either as an advocate or proctor, in any cause,'

matter or business whatsoever, that shall be depending in any such court or courts of admiralty, or vice admiralty, to which such register, deputy register, marshal, or deputy marshal, (hall then'belong; and that every register, deputy register, marshal,lie sh^l forfeit or deputy marshal, who shall be guilty of such offence, (being his office' thereof lawfully convicted, either upon an information or indictment, in manner aforesaid), shall from thenceforth ablolutely forfeit his respective office and employment of register, deputy ^ .'•

(that is t0 say)' that if tbe flag office's or flag officer of any fleet or squadron of (hips, as (hall take any such prize or prizes, (or the majority of (uch flag officers, if more than one), (hall nominate and appoint one or more person or persons agent or agents to fell or appraise the same, as aforesaid, then the captains and commanders, or captain and commander, intitled thereunto, or the majority of them, (if more than one), (hall nominate and appoint the like number of persons or agents to act for them 5 and all the other officers, under the degree of a captain and commander, intitled thereto, or the major part of them, (hall also nominate and appoint the like number of persons or agents to act for them; and all the crews of the several (hips companies of the fleet or squadron, or ship's company, and others, intitled thereto, or the major part of them, (hall likewise nominate and appoint the same number of persons or agents to act on their behalf in such appraisement or sale. said prize and prizes, and every of them, lhall be condemned, (hall exhibit, and cause to be registered, in the said high court of admiralty in Great Britain, or in the' respective courts of admiralty in America, or in any other his Majesty's dominions where the said prize and prizes, and every of them, shall be condemned, his or their respective letter or letters of attorney, appointing him or them agent or agents for the purposes aforesaid; and if any person or persons, so appointed agent or agents as aforesaid, lhall refuse or neglect so to do for the space of six calendar months next after ientence of condemnation of any prize mall be given in the said high court of admiralty in Great Britain, or in America, or other his Majesty's dominions for the care and distribution of which he or they (hall be appointed agent or agents, such person or persons, so refusing or neglecting, (hall forfeit the sum of five hundred pounds, to be recovered, by him or them who (hall sue for the same, by action of debt, bill, plaint, or information, jn any court of record in Great Britain, America, or in any other of his Majesty's dominions; in which no essoin, protection, or wager of law,'or more than one imparlance, (hall be allowed.

XXXIV. And XXXIV. And be it further enacted by the authority afore- Registers in said, That the register or registers of his Majesty's high court of admiralty, and of all other courts of admiralty in Great enter au jet_ Britain, and other his A4ajesty's dominions, shall,, from time to tersof attortime, duly enter or register, or cause to be entered or registered, ney delivered in one or more book or books, to be by him or them kept for ^° thaTMntb£or that purpose only, all letters of attorney that (hall be exhibited pn^taken or delivered to them after the twenty-fourth day of June, one by bis Majesthousand seven hundred and seventy-nine, by any agent or ty's (hips, &c. agents for any prize or prizes taken or to be taken, by any of -^^jj *^*ys his Majesty's ships or vessels of war, or by any agent or agents a er e ive,v> for the-receipt and distribution of any bounty bill or bills, within fourteen days after the fame shall be so exhibited or delivered to such register or registers, at his or their respective offices; which registry (hall contain the days of delivery and entry, the dates of the letters of attorney, the names and places of abode of the agents, the names of the prizes taken, or of the (hips of war or privateers of the enemy taken, burnt, funk, or otherwise destroyed, together with the names of the (hips or vessels by which such prizes (hall have been taken, or by which such (hips of war or privateers of the enemy shall have been taken, burnt, sunk, or otherwise destroyed, together with the date of the condemnation, and of appeal, if any interposed; and the register an.d to tensor registers shall, on the twenty-sixth day of December, and the hereof'tfalftwenty-stfth day of June, or within forty days thereafter, in Vearly,*to the every year, transmit or deliver unto the treasurer of the said treasurer of hospital, or to the lawful deputy of such treasurer for the time Greenwich being, a true copy or transcript, under his or their hand or Ho*Pital» hands, of all such entries as aforesaid within the preceding half year; and if such register or registers (hall neglect or refuse to make or keep such entries, or to transmit or deliver such copies thereof, as aforesaid, within the respective times herein-before limited for that purpose, he or they (hall, for every such offence, forfeit the sum of one hundred pounds, to be recovered by on forfeiture action of debt, bill, plaint, or information, in any of his of Ioo/. Majesty's courts of record, in which no essoin, protection, privilege, wager of law, or- more than one imparlance, (hall be allowed.

XXXV.
