the fame, fhall be and are hereby charged and chargeable upon, and thall be repaid or borne by or out of the first aids or fupplies and if none which fhall be granted in the next feffion of parliament; and be granted in cafe fufficient aids or fupplies for that purpofe fhall not be before July 5, granted before the fifth day of July, one thoufand feven hundred and eighty, then all the faid loans or exchequer bills, to be charged with the interefts, premium, rate, and charges, incident to or attending the fame, fhall be, and are hereby charged and chargeable upon fuch monies as, at any time or times at or after the said fifth day of July, fhall be or remain in the receipt of the exchequer of the furplufles, exceffes, overplus-monies, and other revenues compofing the fund commonly called The Sinking Fund, (except fuch monies of the faid finking fund as are appropriated to any particular ufe or ufes by any act or acts of parliament in that behalf); and fuch monies of the faid finking fund fhall and may be iffued and applied, as foon ase the fame can be regularly ftated and afcertained, for and towards paying off, cancelling, and difcharging fuch loans or exchequer bills, intereft, premium, rate, or charges, until the whole of them thall be paid off, cancelled, and difcharged, or money fufficient for that purpose be kept and referved in the exchequer, to be payable on demand to the respective proprietors thereof.

V. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That all fuch loans or exchequer bills, together with the interest, premium, rate, and charges, incident to or attending the fame, fhall be and are hereby charged and chargeable upon, and shall be repaid or borne by or out of the first aids or supplies which shall be granted in the next feffion of parliament; and in cafe fufficient aids or fupplies for that purpose fhall not be granted before the fifth day of July, one thousand seven hundred and eighty, then all the faid loans or exchequer bills, with the intereft, premium, rate, and charges, incident to or attending the fame, fhall be and are hereby charged and chargeable upon such monies as, at any time or times at or after the faid fifth day of July, fhall be or remain in the receipt of the exchequer of the furpluffes, exceffes, overplus-monies, and other revenues compofing the fund commonly called The Sinking Fund, (except fuch monies of the faid finking fund as are appropriated to any particular use or uses by any act or acts of parliament in that behalf;) and fuch monies of the faid finking fund thall and may be issued and applied, as foon as the fame can be regularly ftated and ascertained, for and towards paying off, cancelling, and discharging fuch loans or exchequer bills, intereft, premium, rate, or charges, until the whole- of them fhall be paid off, cancelled and difcharged, or money fufficient for that purpose be kept and referved in the exchequer, to be payable on demand to the refpective proprietors thereof..

An act for the further augmentation of the falaries of the puifne justices of the courts of King's bench and common pleas, and of the barons of the coif of the court of exchequer, at Westminster.

HEREAS it is reasonable and expedient that a further aug- Preamble. mentation should be made to the falaries of the puifne juftices of the courts of King's bench and common pleas, and of the barons of the coif of the court of exchequer, at Westminster; and whereas the feveral ftamp-duties, granted by divers acts of parliament, made in the thirty-fecond year of the reign of his late majesty King George the Second, and in the fecond and fifth years of his prefent Majesty's reign, and appropriated for the payment of the augmented falaries of the reSpective judges and juftices therein mentioned; and which fince that time, by an act made in the twelfth year of the reign of his prefent Majefty, have been charged with the payment of a fecond augmentation of the falaries of the juftices of Chefter, and of the great feffions for the counties of Wales, have for many years past produced annually a confiderable furplus, but not sufficient to supply so much as is neceffary for fuch further augmentation as aforefaid; and there remained in the receipt of the exchequer on the fifth day of January, one thousand feven hundred and feventy-nine, the fum of fifteen thousand two hundred and ninety-feven pounds, ten fillings, and five-pence farthing, of the furpluffes of the feveral stamp-duties aforefaid: and whereas the deduction of fixpence in the pound out of all monies paid upon all falaries, penfions, annuities, and other payments from the crown, established by an act of parliament, made in the twelfth year of the reign of King George the first, after fatisfying the annuities thereby charged on the fame, bath alfo for many years paft produced a very confiderable furplus, all which faid several surpluffes are by the faid acts reSpectively referved for the difpofition of parliament; be it therefore
