F.R.S. and F.S.A. of Eltham, Kent, by Mary Elizabeth Ashby, eldest daughter and heiress of Shukbrugh Ashby, esq. F.R.S. and M.P. for Leicester in 1784. The late Mr. W. A. Ashby changed his name from Latham to Ashby on succeeding to his mother's property. He married Mary, dau. of Michael Miller, esq. of Bristol, in 1797, and had issue three sons and one daughter.

The Queen has given a donation of ten pounds to the fund for behoof. of the orphans, and the total sum raised by the joint efforts of the general committee in Dundee, and the auxiliary committee in London, already somewhat exceeds £250.
