brought forth, that the Scriptures may be fulfilled in him.

Now because the child accounted as born on December 24, 1810, is a Sign of the man Christ Jesus, full of Grace and Truth; who must be brought forth at his appointed time. Therefore the Spirit knowing the eternal purpose he had purposed in himself-and forseeing all things which must come to pass according to his own will concerning the First-born of many brethrenspeaks thus concerning him.

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of Herod the king, behold there came wise men to Jerusalem from the east, saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

When Herod the King had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judea; for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem in the land of Juda, art not the least amongst the princes of Juda; for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

And the messenger of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream of a night Vision, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother,

and flee into Egypt and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by the prophet Jeremy saying, In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not. Matt. ii.

So then Herod learns of the wise men that the young child is two years old; and therefore he slew all the children that were in Bethlehem from two years old and under.

And this death of the children in Bethlehem by Herod, takes place when the child is called out of Egypt-because he is then two years old and under two years old.

But when the child is called out of Egypt, it is testified that Herod is dead.

Now the spiritual meaning of Herod is, The glory of the skin; and the glory of the skin (which is the glory of the Old Man,) is the Scripture in the letter; and this glory is compared to the light of the Moon, as a glory that is to be done away; and the same is the glory of the Outward man.

But it is appointed that the Outward man and his glory should perish; as the Inward man and his glory are caused to appear.

Now the Inward man is the new man, and his Glory is in his heart-and his Glory is God, from whom cometh the light of truth according to the Scripture in the Spirit; and this glory is compared to the light of the Sun; as a glory that shall never be done away. 2 Cor. iii.

Moreover the child Jesus must be born in Bethlehem of Judea; that is to say spiritually. He that shall save his people from their sins of ignorance concerning God and Jesus Christ, shall be born in the house of spiritual bread; and that house is the spiritual land that giveth all the glory unto God and not unto man. And this spiritual house is the spirit of the First-born in which the Spirit of God dwells; and from God comes the hidden manna-the true spiritual bread which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

For it is written, To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give

him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written-which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it out of heaven from my God. Revela. ii. 17, iii. 12.

Moreover this white stone is the New Jerusalem all righteous, and all glorious within; and this New Jerusalem is the holy city which descendeth out of heaven from God; having the glory of God,—and her light is like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal, which is likened unto a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. Revelations

xxi. 9, 10, 11; xxii. 1.

Moreover the hidden manna in the Tabernacle; and the Glory of the New Jerusalem; which as a pure river of water of life proceedeth out of the throne of God; the same is the revelation of the Glory of God-according to the Spirit of prophecy.

Now the Outward Glory is counted dead and yet alive as a murderer, from December 13, 1812.

He is as dead by faith in the promise that the Outward man and his glory shall perish; and it is once dead, when the creature is caused to know that God and Jesus Christ are within, and not without the creature.

But he is alive as a murderer of the innocent; when he destroys the hearing of faith in the Commandment. To walk by faith, and not by works,

-by teaching to work and not to wait the appointed time of the Spirit.

Now the child called Jesus by inheritance, is born as already testified, on December 24, 1810, and this child is two years old (according to the Scripture year of 360 days) on December 13, 1812, but he is under two years old on December 13, 1812, according to our years: not being two years old till December 24, 1812.

However we do perceive that December 13, 1812, is spiritually the same as December 24, 1812, being both two years from the selfsame time. And it does also appear that by the days over and above the Scripture months, from December 24, 1810, unto December 13, 1812, being eleven days, that December 13, 1812, is by name December 24, 1812.

And we have now to shew that July 12, 1812, is spiritually the same as July 20, 1812; and also as December 13, 1812.

Now as December 13, 1812, is the same time, from December 24, 1810, as December 24, 1812, in that they are both two years; even so July 12, and July 20, 1812, are the same time from December 24, 1810. For from December 24, 1810, unto July 12, 1812, is found to be One year of 360 days, Six months of 30 days, and 26 days.

And from December 24, 1810, unto July 20, 1812, is found to be One full year, Six full months, and twenty-six days-and therefore with
