The Dissecting Room and the Physiological Laboratory will be open daily during the Winter and Summer Sessions from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., except on Saturdays, when they will be closed at 12 o'clock.

Hospital Practice at the Royal Infirmary during both Sessions, from 8.30 a.m. to 12 noon. (See Infirmary Prospectus.)

Should, however, the student prefer to devote a period of four years to his medical curriculum, which is most strongly recommended, the following table may assist in guiding him as to the classes he ought to attend during each of these years.

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 3 to 4 p.m. The lectures in this portion of the course are given at the College.

As students are required to attend lectures on Medicine during two Winter Sessions, and as the subjects included in the course are very numerous and important, only a portion of them are taken each winter.

SURGERY.

The course will consist of lectures on the following subjects, illustrated as far as possible by reference to cases under treatment in the Infirmary.

Inflammation: its essential phenomena and its conse

quences.

Scrofula, Syphilis, Rheumatism, Gout, and Hysteria, in their surgical relations.

Contusions, Wounds, and Hæmorrhage.

Burns and Scalds.

PRACTICAL SURGERY.

Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 12 noon to 1 p.m.

The course consists of three divisions.

1. Lectures and demonstrations showing how the facts of Descriptive Anatomy can be applied to Surgery on the living person or on the dead body; the modes of procedure requisite for the detection of disease, and the effects of accident; the use of surgical appliances, the various forms of instruments and surgical apparatus generally; the application of splints, bandages, and trusses, and the various methods of dressing wounds; the modes of treating fractures and reducing dislocations.

2. OPERATIVE SURGERY.-In this division instruction will be given to the members of the class in the performance of surgical operations on the dead body, and each student will be required to perform some of the major and the minor operations under the direction of the teacher.

3. Demonstration of museum and other surgical preparations.

In this division demonstrations will be given on the specimens of surgical morbid anatomy contained in the museum, and on specimens obtained from time to time from the operating theatre and post-mortem room of the Hospital.
