THE want of a small collection of

PRAYER MEETING HYMNS

has been greatly felt in the meetings which are now being held in various parts of our country, and this little book is offered in the hope that it will meet the want of the Christian_community in this respect. It is believed that no collection of hymns in present use among evangelical Christians has been overlooked in making this selection. No one who loves to " serve the Lord with gladness, and come before his presence with singing," will fail to find here those words in which he is accustomed to "Praise God in his sanctuary."

Christian brethren! Sing these hymns with your whole heart and voice. Send

up to the throne of the Divine Majesty, the full chorus of praise from glad and

grateful hearts. Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness," "speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.”

God grant that every voice which shall sing these hymns, may form a part of that glorious choir who shall surround His throne in heaven, and there ascribe “Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might unto our God forever and ever."
