Towards the middle of life there will be obstacles to the position, the profession or honors, by open enemies belonging either to the clergy or the magistracy-the native will himself be the cause of these animosities. The position and occupation will be of a double, even plural, nature, the social relations will on this account be heterogeneous, a great treachery is to be feared. This sign gives determined enemies-armed sometimes which implies the idea of an ambush. The native will have cause to fear his immediate circle and relations by marriage. He will be the subject of persistent calumnies, or of unscrupulous intrigues in regard to family secrets or alliances. Gemini always promises events of more or less violent character, but the native will be protected from them in a providential manner. The temperament is sanguine, bilious or bilious nervous, which will cause great oscillations in life for good and evil. For any precision on these points the individual horoscope must be studied. The characteristics of the sign are activity of mind and body and skill in all handicrafts. It rules the United States and has much affinity to the typical Yankee. Every sign has thirty degrees, each decan or ten degrees of which has a subinfluence of another or the same planet:

1. Ruled by Jupiter: Numbers and mathematics, of deciphering hieroglyphics, writings and sculptures. Restless character which will hurt itself in the struggle of life, danger of violent death; a humane, generous nature but unfortunate, capable of rising by merit, but has more to fear of himself than of his enemies, errors of judgment and misapplied faculties, too self-confident. Oratorical power and talents for the bar, law and literature.

2. Ruled by Mars: Careless, unpractical nature, mental futility, unprofitable studies, a quarrelsome, wanton, violent and ungrateful nature. Hurts and perils in traveling. The friendship of martial people and fevers through acts of indiscretion. 3. Ruled by the Sun: Aptitude for the abstract and unprofitable sciences. Catastrophe in early life, an anxious, agitated existence. Success in literature and science, intellectual distinction and fame, but small fortune, many voyages, helpful relations, much trouble but eventual success.

Wheat Forecast on the Chicago Board of Trade for October, 1899.

THE NEW Moon for October, from which we make our forecast, occurs on the 4th at 1.05 P.M., Chicago, Standard Time. The Sun is in Libra approaching a sextile of Saturn, and Saturn is approaching the Dragon's Head. The sextile aspect of the Sun and Saturn is of no great importance, and has seldom caused an advance of more than two and one-half cents from any low point, but at the same time, it has virtue enough to prevent any decided break.

On the whole the outlook for the month is one which will prove a good source of revenue for elevator owners of large capital. The market will be quite an easy one to forecast as the Moon is well aspected, but those who are intuitive will be unable to follow their judgment, on account of Saturn being so near the Moon's node, which is as evil as though the Moon were in conjunction with Saturn.

From the 4th to the 10th the tendency will be downward, although no decided break is indicated, and as the Sun is so near a sextile of Saturn it will cause slight reactions every day or two. Therefore scalp both sides of the market.

From the 10th to the 23d there will be a good showing of strength and constant reactions from all depressions.

From the 10th to the 18th wait for good places to buy on; and from the 18th to the 23d look for a choppy market with probably one or two sharp spurts.

Sell short on all advances until Oct. 30, if the forecast has proven generally correct.

CERES.

LADY BORN AUG. 10, 1871, 2 P.M., BROOKLYN, New York.

This lady was born under the planet Jupiter in Cancer, with Sagittarius rising.

A person is said to be born under that planet which governs or rules the sign rising on the eastern horizon.

2010

She is tall, straight, finelooking, with an oval face, high forehead, brown hair, large nose, slightly prominent eyes and pale or fair complexion.

The ancients would describe her as "busy, loquacious, conceited, and apt to meddle with other people's concerns."

She is fond of the water and of traveling.

Her horoscope is a fortunate one.

She will become well-to-do through her husband and possibly by her own prudence and thrift.

She has experienced poverty in her early years.

She will live to be old.

Jupiter is a tall planet, also Herschel, albeit, they are in a short sign, and Jupiter is in good aspect with the Moon her co-significator also in a tall sign and in good aspect with Mercury in Virgo, not a short sign. Jupiter gives an oval face, high forehead and always expressive eyes, and a well-shaped nose.

See Lilly's "Christian Astrology," p. 299, 2 in

Her planet is in a watery sign and the Sun is in the 9th, the house of long journeys.

All her planets but two evil ones are above the earth and five of them are dignified by being in their own houses or signs.

Jupiter, the Greater Fortune, is exalted in the house ruling her husband's money, and the Sun is in good aspect to the Moon.

The Dragon's Tail is in her ascendant, and Saturn is retrograding on the cusp of her house of money and rules that house.

Her ascendant is not afflicted and the Sun and Moon are well placed and aspected.

She will have some trouble with her chest or lungs also her kidneys and bladder, indigestion and palpitation of the heart.

Her abilities are very good, although she may not have had the opportunity when young to improve them.

She must never lend or give credit.

She is unlucky regarding friends who will prove false and must be careful whom she confides in. Secret enemies of both sexes will cause her more trouble than anything else.

She marries well and lives happily and her husband will be the means of raising her and improving her circum

stances.

Two of the malefics being in cardinal signs will cause kidney trouble, also a fixed sign on the cusp of the 6th, her house of sickness, which also denotes some heart trouble augmented by the Sun being in Leo, and Herschel throwing an influence. The Moon in Taurus would predispose to some lung trouble and Herschel in Cancer to indigestion.

Mercury, ruler of the mind, is in the sign of his exaltation, in good aspect to Jupiter and is on the cusp of the mid-heaven, which also affects the mind.

Saturn, lord of her 2d, is retrograding on the cusp of her 2d and is afflicting Venus and the part of Fortune in her house of credit and business.

Mars, an evil planet, is in her house of friends, and also rules her house of secret enemies and is disposed of by Venus, who rules her friends, and Venus is afflicted by Saturn.

In a woman's horoscope we take the Sun to denote her marriage, and here the first aspect the Sun makes is a good one to Mars in her house of friends.
