4 Christ, the Lord, is risen to-day, I MORNING breaks upon the tomb;
Our triumphant holy day; Jesus scatters all its gloom ;
Loud the song of victory raise ; Day of triumph! through the skies
Shout the great Redeemer's praise. See the glorious Saviour rise !
171 2 Christian, dry your flowing tears ; Chase those unbelieving fears;
I ANGELS, roll the rock away! Look on His deserted grave;

See, the Saviour leaves the tomb,

Mighty Conqueror, through them ride! He endured the cross and grave, King of glory, mount Thy throne ! Sinners to redeem and save.
Boundless empire is Thine own. 2 Lo, He rises, mighty King !
5 Powers of heaven, seraphic choirs, Where, O Death! is now thy sting? Sing and sweep your golden lyres; Lo, He claims His native sky!
Sons of men, in humbler strain Grave, where is thy victory?
Sing your mighty Saviour's reign. 3 Sinners, see your ransom paid, 6 Every note with wonder swell, Peace with God forever made ;
Sin o’erthrown, and captive hell! With your risen Saviour rise,
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Claim with Him the purchased skies. | Where thy terrors, vanquished king?
12 Thou within the tomb hast slept, I “Christ, the LORD, is risen to-day," Angel-guards Thy vigil kept; Sons of men and angels say ;
'Twas their word to Mary brought Raise your joys and triumphs high,
Tidings of the Lord she sought: Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply. 3 “Seek Him not among the dead, 2 Love's redeeming work is done,
He is risen, as He said :". Fought the fight, the battle won ; Gladdened by the angelic word, Lo, the sun's eclipse is o'er;
Turning, she beheld her Lord. Lo, he sets in blood no more.
4 Fain like Mary, Lord, would we 3 Vain the stone, the watch, the seal; In Thy glorious presence be ;
Christ hath burst the gates of hell ! Hear Thy voice and see Thy face, Death in vain forbids His rise ;
Praise Thee for Thy wondrous grace. Christ hath opened Paradise !
5 Resurrection-life hast Thou 4 Lives again our glorious King; Given to Thy people now;
“Where, O death, is now thy sting?" Haste the time when raised to Thee, Once He died, our souls to save; We shall manifested be.
“Where's thy victory, boasting grave?" | 6 Blessed Saviour, Victor, King, 5 Hail, the Lord of earth and heaven!
Hear us now Thy triumphs sing, Praise to Thee by both be given! While we celebrate Thy praise, Thee we greet triumphant now;

DOXOLOGY. 1 Hail to Thee, our risen King!
Sing we to our God above, Joyfully Thy praise we sing ;
Praise eternal as His love; For, the mighty conflict o'er,
Praise Him, all ye heavenly host, Now Thou livest evermore.

4 Ye mortals, catch the sound, 1 Yes, the Redeemer rose,
Redeemed by Him from hell,
And send the echo round
The globe on which you dwell ; And o'er our hellish foes
Transported cry, | Hath left the dead, High raised His conquering head;
“Jesus who bled | No more to die.” In wild dismay, Fall to the ground The guards around | And sink away.
5 All hail, triumphant Lord,
Who sav'st us with Thy blood ! 2 Lo, the angelic bands In full assembly meet
Wide be Thy name adored, To wait His high commands,
Thou rising, reigning God !
With Thee we rise, | And empires gain And worship at His feet:
With Thee we reign, | Beyond the skies. Joyful they come, From realms of day And wing their way | To Jesus' tomb.
DOXOLOGY. 3 Then back to heaven they fly,
To God, the Father, Son, And the glad tidings bear;
And Spirit ever blest, Hark! as they soar on high,
