my soul,

I OOO
1 Jesus, lover of

Let me to Thy bosom fly,
While the nearer waters roll,

While the tempest still is high!
Hide me, O my Saviour, hide,

Till the storm of life be past;
Safe into the haven guide;

Oh receive my soul at last! 2 Other refuge have I none;

Hangs my helpless soul on Thee ;
Leave, ah ! leave me not alone,

Still support and comfort me!
All my trust on Thee is stayed,

All my help from Thee I bring;
Cover my defenceless head

With the shadow of Thy wing! 3 Wilt Thou not regard my call?

Wilt Thou not accept my prayer? Lo! I sink, I faint, I fall!

Lo! on Thee I cast my care !

Reach me out Thy gracious hand!

While I of Thy strength receive; Hoping against hope I stand,

Dying, and behold I live!
4 Thou, O Christ, art all I want;

More than all in Thee I find :
Raise the fallen, cheer the faint,

Heal the sick, and lead the blind !
Just and holy is Thy Name;

I am all unrighteousness;
False and full of sin I am,
Thou art full of truth and

grace. 5 Plenteous grace with Thee is found,

Grace to cover all my sin ;
Let the healing streams abound;

Make and keep me pure within !
Thou of Life the Fountain art,

Freely let me take of Thee;
Spring Thou up within my heart !

Rise to all eternity!

IOOI
1 GUIDE me, O Thou great Jehovah,

Pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but Thou art mighty,

Hold me with Thy powerful hand.
2 Open now the crystal fountain

Whence the living waters flow;
Let the fiery, cloudy pillar

Lead me all my journey through.
3 Feed me with the heavenly manna

In this barren wilderness;
Be my Sword, and Shield, and Banner,

Be the Lord my Righteousness.
4 When I tread the verge of Jordan,

Bid my anxious fears subside ;
Death of death, and hell's destruction,

Land me safe on Canaan's side.

1004
I NOTHING but leaves ! the Spirit grieves

Over a wasted life;
O'er sin committed while conscience slept,
Promises made but never kept,
Hatred, battle, and strife;

Nothing but leaves.
2 Nothing but leaves ! no garnered sheaves

Of life's fair ripened grain ;
Words, idle words, for earnest deeds;
We sow our seeds, lo, tares and weeds,
We reap with toil and pain

Nothing but leaves.
3 Nothing but leaves ! memory weaves

No veil to screen the past;
As we retrace our weary way,
Counting each lost and misspent day,
We find sadly at last

Nothing but leaves.
4 And shall we meet the Master so,

Bearing our withered leaves ?
The Saviour looks for perfect fruit,
We stand before Him, humbled, mute,
Waiting the words He breathes,

Nothing but leaves !
