Lord High Admiral of Great-Britain and

Ireland, Ec. .. In pursuance of ani act paised in the present sessions of Parliament, entitled, “ An act to prohibit all trade and intercourse with the several colonies therein mentioned ?" We do hereby license authorize and perinit Nathaniel Pendleton, master of the ship Industry, of the burthen of ninety tons to proceed with the said shipand cargo, consisting of the particulars specified in the schedule annexed, from the port of Liverpool to the port of Boston, or any other in North America, there to unload and deliver the said cargo, and to return from thence with his said ship to Great Britain or Ireland, This licence to subsist and be in force from the day of the date hereof until her return as aforesaid.

Given under our Hands, and the Seal of the Office

of Admiralty, the ist day of February, 1776.

other commissioned Officers in his Majesty's Pay;
and also to all others whom these Presents mall
or may concern.

Note: If any goods, wares or merchandize, other than
stores and provisions for his Majesty's use, or provisions for
the use of the inhabitants of any town or place garrisoned or
poilessed by his Majesty's troops, shall be found on board
any licensed ship, or if the cargoes shall not correspond with
the particulars specified in the bodies of the respective licences
(the neceffary stores for the ship's use, and the baggage of the
passengers only excepted) in either of those cales the said
goods, wares, &c: shall be forfeited, seized, and profecuted
as the said act directs.

It was thought fit to alter the aforementiorled form of li. cence, and to make another more prohibitory, by expressing in the body, as was done in the note at the foot of the licence copied at the head of this account, that the ship having such licence, would be permitted to go to such town or place only as might be garrisoned or possessed by his Majesty's troops, and the licence last fettled is in the words following, viz

len, master of the ship Pallas, of the burthen of one hundred and fixty tons, to proceed with the said ship and cargo, confisting of the particulars specified in the schedule annexed, from the port of London to the port of Boston,or any other town or place in North America, garrisoned or poffeffed by any of his Majesty's troops and not elsewhere, and there to unload and deliver the said cargo, and to return from thence. with his said ship to Great-Britain or Ireland. This licence to subsist and be in force frohit the day of the date hereof, Qatil her return as aforesaid.
