TO CORRESPONDENTS.

REVIEWS.-Mr. S. Knowles's Drama was not received till too late for notice this month. Books for review must be in our hands by the 15th of each month.

Mrs. E. T.-We have not received the volume, or it would have been noticed.

CLARA P.-We believe all the articles mentioned in her letter have been received. On her return she shall hear from us.

E. P.-Is thanked for the Sketch, which will appear.

C. G. L.-Accepted.

W. H.-Accepted. This Correspondent is a proof what improvements time may effect, and that the young aspirant for literary fame should never be discouraged. W. H. must not, save in his own mind, inscribe his Poems to "the Goddess of his Idolatry." The public has no interest in Miss So-and-so or Madame Such-a one; all local subjects are objectionable for a Magazine.

SUNDAY TIMES. This paper has of late inserted some poetical articles, as original, which appeared in the Belle Assemblée two years ago; among the rest we may name the "Blind Girl to her Lover," by J. M. C. Perhaps the Editor is imposed upon by having the articles re-copied, and sent as original. LOUISA H.-We trust this lady has received a private communication from us. She has our best thanks for her courtesy.

grey goose quill? or are we not deserving its labours in our cause?

F. A. L., Exeter.-Accepted.

MARY.-Many of her articles are accepted.

E. K. S., Rolls Chambers, is informed he may have his MSS. back if sent for in reasonable time. We speak in the case of prose, as short poetical articles the authors can retain copies of without much trouble to themselves.

W. B., Saint Neot's.-The Poems, sent by this Correspondent, are accepted for publication.

C. C.-"The Absent Friend" will not be forgotten.

X. Y. Z.-His contributions shall appear. We trust he was satisfied with the last.

J. B., Brixton.-The little Essay shall appear. We should be glad of other articles of this nature; we wish to blend instruction with amusement, when they can be pleasingly united.

even heard of the legend to which she alludes in her M. M., Birmingham., is assured we have never letter to us; whatever MS. she may favour us with had better not be sent through that channel, or we shall not receive it.

J.M. L. will find we have appreciated his feelings. J. M. R.-More last leaves! Well, we will not blow coldly on them.

E. H. B.-" Another, yet another!" The same answer as above.

F. J., Brighton.-We have only received one of JUSTINA.--The above answer will apply to this the books our fair Correspondent speaks of. Correspondent.

L. A., Devonshire.-A private answer has been

SOPHIA ALICIA J.-Is thanked for her favours, all sent to this lady's address. of which are on our accepted list.

MARION, Ludlow.-The Poems are not mislaid, but did she see how our table groans beneath "Broken Lyres" and "Shattered Lutes" she would forgive the lapse of time ere poetical articles find insertion in our pages. Neglect is never the cause. H. S.-The tale shall appear.

W. J. R., Calais, will find he has not been for gotten.

CLERICUS, Walsall.-This Correspondent is sincerely thanked; his letter is received in the same kindly spirit in which it seems to be written. We are not responsible for all the errors Clericus points out; we are only the engineer setting the carriage in motion, and are not answerable for the arrange. ment of the seats in the vehicle; nevertheless it shall be amended. Clericus must remember we have many other literary offspring besides the Belle, all demanding a "Parent's Care," but a kindly hint is always acceptable. We hope to hear from Clericus again.

Mns. W. Q., Paris.-When the volume this lady mentions in her letter reaches us, it shall receive every attention at our hands. It has not yet done so. MRS. GRANT's Tale is received, and will appear next month.

DIEWN. Is on our accepted list.

A CORRESPONDENT with no signature, (post mark, Stockwell), who states we are indebted for her introduction of our Magazine to her dress-maker" is thanked for her contribution, though it seems to be offered in a spirit of patronizing which we can assure the fair writer is not needed or appreciated by us.

C. G. L.-Will probably receive a private communication ere this number meets her eye.

MARY U., Vale of Clwyd.-Some if not all the articles are accepted.

All Communications, Reviews of New Books, &c., to be addressed to the EDITRESS, care of MR. JENKINSON, No. 24, Norfolk-street, Strand, where ALONE communications for this Work will in future be received, POST

PAID.

Office, No. 24, Norfolk-street, Strand: sold by Berger, Holywell-street; Steele, Paternosterrow; and by all Booksellers in Town and Country.

EDWARD R. S.-We are much pleased with the five poetical pieces sent by this Correspondent; all Printed by Joseph Rogerson, 24, Norfolk-street, Strand, shall appear. Has E. R. S.'s relative laid aside his
