In his essay of marraige and single life he is speaking for the 'he' itself since his belief was based on male readers. Interesting enough to see him contradict both these things or rather situations or to be more specific I mean the two different institutions of the ever-growing society. Thus he is able come up with a verdict that it is good to be married and not good too at the same time.He means that marriage is a choice for the men since they are (they were) the ones who control the very mindset of the society.
Thus it's give me immense pleasure to tell you all that from Sir Francis Bacon's essays we see what protrudes out is whatsoever be the case both these institutions is going to bug mankind or rather bother (to be polite) for the next infinite decades to come.
