About the author (2019)

Dr Gabriel Mitroi, Consultant Gynaecological Oncology and Laparoscopic Surgeon.


Dr Mitroi graduated with honours in 2003 from the University of Medicine in Bucharest as an obstetrician gynaecologist. During his medical residency, due to his interest in surgery, he worked alongside different specialists, spending most of his time in the operating room, acquiring vast knowledge and surgical skills. He received training in the surgical treatment of endometriosis from some of the world's leading laparoscopic endometriosis specialists. 


Dr Mitroi is the founder and the team leader of Wellborn Endometriosis Centre, a specialist international centre that brings together a team of experts from a range of specialities, treating all stages of endometriosis using advanced laparoscopic excision only. He specialises in the use of minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of endometriosis and pelvic pain, benign and malign gynaecological conditions. 


With a passion for difficult and challenging cases, Dr Mitroi has treated thousands of patients suffering from different gynaecological conditions including endometriosis, with patients travelling from as far as Canada or Africa to have surgery with him.


Dr Mitroi provides the following surgical services: endometriosis excision surgery, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, laparotomy, hysterectomy, ovarian cystectomy, oophorectomy, ovarian, cervical and endometrial cancers.
