LINEN, &c.

FELONIOUSLY stealing linen, fustian, calico, cotton cloth or cloth worked, woven, or made of any cotton or linen yarn mixed, or thread, linen, or cotton yarn, linen or cotton tape, incle, filleting, laces or any other linen, fustian, or cotton goods, or wares whatsoever, laid, placed or exposed to be printed, whitened, bowkened, bleached or dried in any whitening or bleaching croft, lands, fields, or grounds, bowking house, drying house, printing house, or other building, ground, or place made use of by any calico printer, whitster, crofter, bowker or bleacher, for printing, whitening, bowking, bleaching, or drying the same, to the value of ten shillings, or aiding or assisting, or wilfully or maliciously hiring or procuring any other person to commit any such offence, or buying or

receiving such goods so stolen, knowing the same to be stolen, are guilty of felony, and shall be transported for life, or imprisoned and kept to hard labour in the common gaol or house of correction, or penitentiary house, for any term not exceeding seven years. 18 Geo. 2. c. 27. 51 Geo. 3. c. 41.

Breaking by day or night into any house, shop, cellar, vault, or other place or building, or by force entering into any house, shop, cellar, vault, or other place or building, with intent to steal, cut, or destroy any linen yarn or linen cloth, or any manufacture of linen yarn belonging to any manufactory, or the looms, tools, or implements used therein, or wilfully or maliciously cutting in pieces or destroying any such goods when exposed either to bleach or dry, is felony without clergy.

LODGERS.

IT is frequently the practice for idle and disorderly persons to hire lodgings with intent to take away, embezzle, or purloin the goods and furniture in such lodgings. The taking away, with intent to steal, &c. any chattel, bedding, or furniture, which by contract or agreement they use or is let to them in lodgings, is larceny and felony. 3 & 4 W. & M. c. 9. s. 5.
