PSALM LXXII.

A Psalms for Solomon. IVE the king thy judgments, O God, y nighteousness unto the king's son. He all judge thy people with rightse, and thy poor with judgment. The mountains shall bring peace to the Get the little hills, by righteousness.

9 We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.

10 O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?

11 Why withdrawest thou thy hand,

9 The children. Some think this refers to a defeat of the Ephraimites mentioned in 1 Ch. 7. 20.27; but it probably refers to the conduct and defeat of the ten tribes, of which Ephraim was the head. Nothing is recorded in the history of Israel concerning the cowardice of the Ephraimites, as distinct from that of the other tribes: some therefore think, that the children of Ephraim is put by a figure of speech for the nation in general.
